The league is apparently allowing this play going forward. Since Philly was extremely successful with it, no doubt we will see it more throughout the league this year.

"Rugby Scrum" is a qb sneak where two players push the QB forward for short yardage TD's/1st downs.

Do you think the Cowboys will use it? or do you see it as a cheap way to get td's/1st?

First play in the video shoulda been a flag for forward motion. Also at 36 seconds that is illegal to grab and pull a player. These should be flags from the flag happy zebras.

I see this happening if we enforce this play.........or a goal-line fumble.

Yep. That's one of the keys. Hurts is one of the strongest QB's in the league.
Imagine Tua doing it.
But say you drafted Will Levi? Maybe get him some experience as a third and one specialist?

Hope not, but it remains to be seen. Buffalo, Cincinnati, Baltimore and Philly all used it last year.
Denver and Seattle have said they are going to work on the technique.

Like Peter King, my opinion is it is dangerous to the players involved.
Once a couple of QBs, or lineman have season ending injuries the NFL will ban it.
Doesn't really make sense in light of all the player safety issues to subject QBs "to be treated like endangered objects in the middle of trash-compactors,” King writes.
Why would you hope not?

We better use it.

I agree with Peter King player safety issues that subject QBs, "to be treated like endangered objects in the middle of trash-compactors.”
Dak is what? 6',2", plays in the mid 220s. But we've seen what happens to the season when he's injured.
Not saying he's Tom Brady or Joe Montana, but he is our best hope for a decent season.

I understand the owners standpoint that the players aren't capable of getting up to speed in the close quarters the play is used (good point).
Of course there is always the possibility of a backer coming over the scrum like a guided missile, ala Kansas City in the Super Bowl.
Still you have big bodies falling uncontrollably, twisting bones, muscles, and tendons. Landing on fingers, hands, ankles, and what have you.

In a league where they stress player safety, it doesn't make sense to ask players to abandon common sense.

Pop hated the Hack a Shaq but he knew it helped his team so did it. You take advantage of everything you can in sports within the rules of the game.

Until defenses stop it or we see QBs getting injured from it I would say every team in the league is foolish for not using it. With that said I would put money on defenses being more prepared this year and we see it not being the automatic 1st down as it was in 2022. I think the teams that do this play really well in 2023 are going to have to have a 2nd play off of it to keep defenders from selling out. Maybe its some sort of jet sweep or pitch play, IDK. Give D coordinators a full offseason to stop something and they will, it's up to offenses to stay a step ahead.

Hand it to Deuce, Tyron can pick him up and shot put him over the line.
They should try this. Try picking him up and throwing him over... would be interesting to see how the league handles that. lol

From what I can gather from the NFL rule book you can only push a team mate forward in an effort to gain yards. You can't lift, carry, or pull a team mate.
