Will the McCarthy adopt the "Rugby Scrum"?

Yep. That's one of the keys. Hurts is one of the strongest QB's in the league.
Imagine Tua doing it.
But say you drafted Will Levi? Maybe get him some experience as a third and one specialist?
but say you didn't and use lamb or Turpin as A wildcat qb in scrum. lets keep the actual factual reality in play and use our real roister options. But dak can handle it just fine..

Absolutely hate this play and think the owners should have banned it this offseason. IMO there is no place for it football.
I guess they need a few more of the owners to get beat on this stupid play for it to matter to enough of them to get rid of it.

Hope not, but it remains to be seen. Buffalo, Cincinnati, Baltimore and Philly all used it last year.
Denver and Seattle have said they are going to work on the technique.

Like Peter King, my opinion is it is dangerous to the players involved.
Once a couple of QBs, or lineman have season ending injuries the NFL will ban it.
Doesn't really make sense in light of all the player safety issues to subject QBs "to be treated like endangered objects in the middle of trash-compactors,” King writes.
Exactly my take on it as well. This is a clear case of failing to proactively make change in the interest of player saftey.

I’m pretty sure they drafted a DT with the first pick to stop it so I would say so.
They didn't draft Mazi to stop this...there is no one player stopping this, otherwise Philly wouldn't be so effective at it, because there are already dominant DTs in the league. Mazi's true impact will hopefully keep teams in 3rd and medium or long, by playing better run D on 1st and 2nd down. Therefore the play wont be used as much as the Eagles (and others) aren't in 3rd and 1 so often. My take on it.

It's a dicey play, I thought they would ban it this year, if it doesn't get defenced effectively this year they will reconsider banning it. I may be a bit cynical but when a team gets too good at running the ball, the holding penalties start to come out.
I don't like the play I hope it is penalized

I don't see it as a fair play. It's a free fist down 80 or more percent of the time. I also hate that pass-interference is a spot foul.

Hell yea.......in fact, I would practice not only inches or one yard, 2 or 3. Perfected right, no one can stop it......imagine the impact of game planning or play calling with a guaranteed one or two yard play in your pocket.

Stephen Jones is on the Competition Committee. Did he lobby to ban the play? Nine teams indicated they would not be in favor of banning it. The Competition Committee didn’t recommend it be banned. There were no injuries on the play. Banning a play because you think someone might get injured might lend credence to banning plays that players have often actually been injured. There is an ultimate remedy. They use it in the Pro Bowl. I only heard about it. I didn’t watch it.

The league is apparently allowing this play going forward. Since Philly was extremely successful with it, no doubt we will see it more throughout the league this year.

"Rugby Scrum" is a qb sneak where two players push the QB forward for short yardage TD's/1st downs.

Do you think the Cowboys will use it? or do you see it as a cheap way to get td's/1st?

At one time this was illegal in NFL rules. The NFL is so hypercritical. They talk about player safety but are allowing one of the most dangerous plays in all sports.

no we are not smart enough or well coached enough to try it.
I honestly don't know why some of you are fans. I'm not saying you're not, I'm just wondering the logic behind devoting so much attention to something you hate so much.

Yet nobody got injured last season doing it
Yet nobody had CTE until 2005. Yeah, right.

So you want to increase the opportunities of something known to be dangerous until you have proof years later? Please apply to the NFL competition committee, they love your approach to the hypocrisy of player health and safety.

We should definitely do it!

We already have an affective QB sneak with Dak. We need to make some minor adjustments to copy Philly.

The Philly QB sneak is way more effective than handing the ball off 5 yards behind the LOS.

It works because Hurts has almost 600lbs pushing him and Kelsi and the Philly G’s get a good push.

Had we adopted it and had success, I can say with 100% certainty that it would have been deemed illegal due to backlash from every other organization, and every media member East of Ohio.
