Will the New Channel-"Redzone" cause the Sunday Ticket to lose appeal?

I will never watch this. How pointless is it to just watch redzone performances? The best part of the game is the meat and potatoes drive down the field. Or the 3 and out forced by a stout defense.

The Redzone is for fans without the Ticket

And my point is, what kind of fan would care to watch this?

1. Fan who can't get Directv like me
2. Fan who can't afford $280 for the Ticket
Are you intentionally being obtuse? This isn't a substitute for Sunday Ticket.

I never said it was a subsitute but would you agree it's a lot better than what I had last season? Which was no opportunity to see Live game action from around the league for 1pm and 4pm games.

And who watches a whole game on the ticket anyway from start to finish?

Exactly, only people without the option to switch watches an entire game from start to finish.

That's a good point. People that watch football for fantasy football would love this. I guess that's who it's directed at.

I'm not a huge FFL guy, though, so yeah I like watching entire games. Or at least large chunks of games. You can't gauge how good a team or player is just by looking at their redzone performances.

And the only reason I'd get Sunday Ticket is to watch every Cowboys game.

Again, you're missing the entire point. This has nothing to do with watching an ENTIRE game. It has everything to do with not JUST watching redzone performances.

Could be good towards the end of the season when the playoff race starts heating up. Sometimes its nice to know (e.g. see) how the other teams score or defenses stop them. If I had PIP I would probably watch it that way during commercial breaks etc. But probably not so much during the regular season.

And as someone else said, when no games of interest are on, the fantasy guys are going to eat it up... Like me.

The percentage of people that actually get NFLN is so small that it really doesnt matter anyway.

It's time for Time Warner to step up their entertainment game and get the NFLN

Depends on your preference. I would rather sit at home and listen to color commentary and switch to any game I want. I did the whole bar thing when I was 18(friend got me in) and it was cool but what I didnt like was watching the game your shoulder to shoulder with everyone. The only thing I miss from that is when your team does good the fanbase in the bar went nuts. That was cool. Im from the Philly area and along the back wall of the bar was all Eagle fans. In the side of the bar was all Steeler fans(lots of them) and along the front wall of the bar was all Cowboy fans. On the other side of the bar was the miscellaneous fan base. Im just real picky and when the Cowboys are on I get somewhat intense.

This channel is just a tease. It will prolly make you mad after a while. The Cowboys are on the 7 yard line on 2nd down and your hear "we're get back to that game in a second lets go to the Detriot-Jags game where Det is on the 2 yard line.

I want to believe they will stick with the game until the team scores a TD or has to kick a FG. I could not see them cutting away from a game when a team is on the 7 yd line when the channel is called redzone

I'd gladly pay $200 for the Sunday Ticket.

Problem is that they've raised it to $280.00.

I'm sure the extra $80 increase over the past 10 years has taken food off of your table.

Agreed. Besides, the purpose of the NFL Sunday Ticket is to see games when you want to see them, not when a network switcher decides you should see it.

Besides, it only lowers the price for Sunday Ticket, and you can use it as a bargaining chip this year or next year.

"I'm really looking to keep Sunday Ticket but there's this new "Redzone" channel and I'm contemplating making the switch. Can you tell me how your service may rival this ..."
