It's early in the season but should the Cowboys lose to the 49ers, it will have detrimental affects not only playoff placement wise, it will also have a negative mental affect on the Cowboys and their fans.
It will be hard going through the rest of the season, even if the Cowboys get on a roll, knowing that no matter what they do they will still likely lose (again) to the 49ers should they meet in the playoffs.
No, but I think winning on Sunday will greatly increase Dallas’ chances at the #1 seed which would make a Super Bowl run much more likely.

It is just a regular season game, but this one and the two against Philly are very important.

Not even close
The regular season is about getting into the playoffs. Then every game matters

No, way too much season left. We've only played one divisional game and have two remaining with the Birds.

Just hypothetically we lose this game and have two losses, and then turn-around and beat the Birds twice and then they have two losses. If that were to play out, the sky would be falling in Philly.

So much can happen to all teams between now and the last regular season game.

No the season won't be over. The Cowboys will make the playoffs. Then I'll have the pleasure of seeing how they choke this year in the playoffs like I've done for the last 28. Every year I ask the Cowboys to show me this year is different and every year they fail.

My birthday is Saturday, and how great it would be to pull off this win on Sunday! Are we the underdogs? I believe that's a "yes"! Have we been underdogs before? That would be another "yes." However, being a diehard fan since I was three years, I've learned to take the good and bad. If a loss I prefer to play to our maximum give it all you got than to just give another team a W! The Cowboys have just as much talent on the team as the 49ers, Eagles, and any other teams. We have the past 26 plus years now! With that being said, "LET"SSSSSSS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COWBOYS!!!!!!

Give up after one lone regular season game ?
That's the thought of a fair weather fan.

Should we lose this Niners game, I'd want to see how our coaching staff and organization
makes the very necessary, on the move adjustments that should make us better, stronger into the playoffs.

The thing that concerns me is the last two games against weren't normal losses...they were sort of soul crushing with getting bullied a bit and Dak pulling two epic flop jobs. I really think Dak may be done mentally if he has another flop in this situation.

I won't feel like the season is over after five games but it would temper my expectations if the 49ers win again.

If the Cowboys win I'll have hope that maybe this team is really different than the last two. But regardless, there are still 12 more games and a lot of things can happen.

My goodness. Get a grip. What an unintelligent thread.

Maybe we should shut the franchise down completely if we lose.

It's definitely an early check up of whether we are once again a pretender or finally a true contender this time.

But no, even in the case of a loss the season ain't over for me. But getting first seed will be nearly impossible then.

Reading through this thread....there isn't much confidence going into this game around here.

The season won't be over, but we need to see that we can beat this kind of team in the 49ers. We got beat up by the Cardinals like always. Time to see if we can turn the corner against a physical team.
