Will Tony Pollard take the RB1 position for good Sunday?

Will Pollard be the starter for the rest of the season?

Always room for improvement.

Not sure the exact snap share, but I'd say it's about 60% Zeke and 40% Pollard.

I think it's definitely possible that the run game and the offense as a whole would be better if Pollard gets 60% and Zeke 40%.
All change ain't good change though. You could change for the worse.

If it doesn't work, they could just switch back...
I mean i'm not going to project what will happen i'm just going by what i've seen in the past from some teams and sometimes things don't go back even if you change it back.

This game will forever be known as "The Tony Pollard Audition Game."

What an incredible opportunity for the young dual threat player. With Malik Davis as the #2, I think we'll see Pollard get at least 85% of the snaps.

He has a chance to make a massive impact week 8.

22 carries for 120 yards and 5 catches for 40 yards with 2 total touchdowns.

Will Pollard become the new starter after week 8?

Pollard is UFA after the season.

Elliot is the lead dog and gets the dirty yards. Who knows what happens after this year. JJ should have tried to get a little extension on Pollard last year.

You guys know Pollard has started a game for us before right?

No. But I think splitting carry’s is going forward is going to be very effective …

No but after this season I’m ready to move on

Been screaming that all off season. TP is showcasing for somewhere else now. I expect to lose him, and Zeke will take a pay cut to stay. Zeke does this because he will still end up making more here than elsewhere. He also loves his team and being a Cowboy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he retires.

He’s not the same player and he will take a significant paycut because he’s not that good anymore.

And I love Elliot. But watching him being ankle tackled is killing me. He is so much stronger than that. He now needs a head of steam. Pollard ran through 3 foot tackles for a TD. Elliot had to see that goal line and decide to not be denied. It’s been a while for him. I know he can do it.

Not a chance he becomes our number 1 back. He'll be lucky if Malik the Mallet doesn't bump him down to #3.

No. If Pollard takes over the starting role, he'll be hurt by the end of the year.
He just doesn't have the body to be a full-load back.
Christian McCaffrey is Prime Example No. 1.
His body wore down eventually, keeping him out all last year and seeing limited action this year.
Finally, he was shipped off to the Niners.
Now, Zeke isn't fairing as well either on the injury front.
But I think he plays with injury better than Pollard because he's a more solid back.
I think Pollard is more talented, but toting that rock puts a lot of punishment on a running back.
That's why I consider Emmitt Smith in the top echelon of running backs. His durability was his super power.

No because Jerry will not allow it given Zeke's contract.

That said, Pollard is raising his contract price given he is an UFA after this season (franchise tag of near $10M for 2023).

I have never done any such thing.. I have simply debunked YOUR declaration that long runs are "important" and "impactful." If they were, the teams for which they play wouldn't have such crappy records. But I am content to let you continue to advocate about the importance of something that has been so clearly demonstrated to be unimportant when it comes to winning games. Each person is entitled to his or her own fantasies.. It's still a free country after all.

Imagine thinking Zeke is better for our team than Pollard.

Cowboys will be using a two-back scheme.
