Will we have enough balls for Barber, Felix, and Choice

IMHO our running back corp needed this infusion of young talent. Watching Julius trip over himself last year was painful.

How will we split the balls between our 3 backs?

No matter how many times I read this, I chuckle.

The real question is, Will our opponents have enough balls to handle Barber, Felix and Choice?

They need to run the ball at least 30 times every game. With Barber getting about 20, Jones should get about 8-10 and choice should get 3-5 if he's lucky because Thompson never carried the ball

I will be absolutely shocked if we average more than 25 runs a game. That is not who we are.

The only way Choice is active on game days is if he is good on punt coverage and Kickoff coverage.

If the Colts can average 28 and still be known as a passing team, I think we can do it. We didn't run the ball well enough last year or consistently enough, it really should be closer to 30 than 25 if we do it right.

We only had 419 attempts last year, with one good back, which was good for 21st in the league. We were also among the worst in the league in rushing for 1st downs, the Patriots (who aired it out like nobodies business) were 3rd, we were 23rd.

We need to become more balanced so we can keep from becoming predictable late in the year.

A lot of it has to do with the make up of the team. What is the line better at? Run or pass blocking? Where was our strength on offense last year? Running or passing. When we needed a score, did we go through the air or pound it on the ground?

Our bread and butter last year was the pass, but I think that was due to JuJo not breaking out of his robotic shell. I think it will remain our strength even with Felix because of his ability to take it to the house on screens.

Unless Choice is a key element of our special teams, and by that I mean the coverage units, he'll be inactive on game days, imo.

Barber will be the lead feature back get 75% of the workload. He should be the everydown back. Jones comes in and gets a 20% of the touches from the backfield. I see him as a specialty back with specific designed plays for him like screens and reverses. They will use him a lot like they use Bush in NO. Choice will get 5%, late in the game touches and play lots of special teams.

I see a 3rd down combination of TO, Crayton, Witten, Barber and Jones on the field. Jones adds the speed factor to the offense and defenses will really have to pay attention as to who they try to take away.

Offense should be fun this year!

I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but as was previously stated...this is a great problem to have
