This year, the FO has been steadfastly remaining in it's conservative mode. I don't see that changing now. In the event they deem it necessary to make a move, I seriously doubt it'd be anything too astounding. Possibly just a modest 3rd-tier journeyman at most. Right now, we seem reasonably well set, however.

A thought given the Harvin trade, will Jerry make a move? Past history says yes... also given that we may be close and a contender.. A defensive lineman? I was thinking about say Gerald McCoy of Tampa.. Young, talented and would make a very good 3 technique... Not to say I was advocating that, but wanted to start the discussion going on if we might trade and if so, who?

How does past history say Jerry makes a move?

Off the top of my head Dallas has made three in season trades during Jerry's tenure.

The Herschel Walker deal in 1989. That was not about being close or a contender. It was about rebuilding a franchise.

The Antonio Bryant for Quincy Morgan trade in 2004. That trade was made purely because Bryant was a malcontent. That was a trade down as Bryant was the better player.

The Roy Williams deal. Now this one is an example of Jerry making a move thinking the team is one player away.

I don't think there is enough history there to suggest Jerry will make a move now.

mccoy would be very expensive. not only would you have to give a premuim pick but then you have to sign him and thats gonna be huge money.i say stand pat and continue to do what we have done that has gotten us to 5-1

no to trades...trades usually don't benefit either team much, so I don't see us giving up a resource(s) to get a back up type player...

I highly doubt it

Agree. We better not!!!! I would like to keep future draft picks and continue to draft wisely. As of right now, we are not one player away.

Besides, we have guys coming off injuries that are healing up and returning soon.

I want to roll with what we've got and not screw around with team chemistry, ala Seattle. Save player personnel moves for the offseason.

Disagree. If what we are seeing is real.

WE ARE one player away.

Granted, not likely, but he will be a free agent next year.....So, if say, I am not advocating this, a number one and a three, would you i.e. TB be interested?

NO! A 1st and 3rd for a guy that will be a free agent after the season? That's a terrible idea.

I think the Cowboys are set at 3 tech with Melton and Crawford. If they make a move, which is doubtful, it would likely be at DE.

If we could get an edge rusher who has 1 or 2 years left on his deal, and his team is out of contention, I think it would make a lot of sense to make the trade for a mid round draft pick.

Targets
Tamba Hali
Ryan Kerrigan
Calvin Pace
Andre Branch

I also remember Joey Galloway.....Two firsts for him....
