Chemistry is good right now. Why break it up. Our d line rotation is good, the players are starting to settle into a rhythm. O line has been solid. Why mess with it.

I think Jerry should try to get Hatcher and Ware back. Maybe Danny McCray too!

The front office should be exploring ways to improve the roster every day of the year. That doesn't mean they should or will make a trade, but it means they should be considering all options.

I'd be looking at the Raiders or Jaguars for players in their last year of their deals that could be had for late round draft picks. Those teams are done this year and they will likely lose said free agents for little or no compensation at the end of of the year. With Raiders, I'd inquire about Charles Woodson, Tarrell Brown, and Pat Sims. With Jacksonville, I'd look at Roy Miller. These aren't blockbuster moves but they add a veteran defender at a reasonable price. Personally, I think Woodson at best is an upgrade at Free Safety and at worst is a valuable nickel back. Brown is insurance and depth at CB. Both Sims and Miller would be an upgrade over Nick Hayden and improve depth.

While Fuzzy went through the situation with the cap in another thread that he started, and I agree with his assessment. I suspect taking on another team's salary for a player might not be the road this team takes. As it stands the team is expecting Lawrence and Brent back. So those are people already on the payroll.

An impact player would be expensive. One can be had in the draft for much less. I understand the concept of adding the right piece at the right time. But it's difficult not to believe Lawrence and Brent in rotation would not improve a surprisingly good defense as it is without the expense.

If we could get an edge rusher who has 1 or 2 years left on his deal, and his team is out of contention, I think it would make a lot of sense to make the trade for a mid round draft pick.

Targets
Tamba Hali
Ryan Kerrigan
Calvin Pace
Andre Branch

What are you giving up for Ryan Kerrigan?

the date is fast approaching, and the one position i am most concerned about is cornerback. an injury to scandrick or carr would be devastating.

would jerry & company entertain a trade of some sort?

I'm with you. It would be crippling if we lost one of our cornerbacks.

Of this lists, my must resigns are:
-Dez
-Leary

More will be re-signed and obviously I would like to keep most of them, but these are the 6 I'm focused on first based off talent/ age/ what they'll ask for

It would be interesting but it takes so much time to gel

Yep. Great point. Football just isn't conducive to adding players mid season like that.

I'm just saying, as a fan, it would be highly entertaining if the NFL had an active trade deadline like the other three major sports.

What I would like to see if possible, are solid backups in important positions. Is there a solid back up QB we could add, I don't trust the current if something happens to Romo. Backup corner, and back up at the safety positions. Nothing massive, just a couple of insurance pieces.
