Will "Wildcat Jerry" reemerge from the museum we call The Star at Frisco?

When Garrett took over in 2011 is when McClay became more than just a scout.
I stand corrected. I guess its not a science. But largely he's been great. I think we just need calculated bold moves that make sense. Nuthin wrong at least taking a risk that makes sense. The rest of the league is evolving and making bold moves pushing their chips in and we just plod along doing the same dang things with the same results. We need 2 evolve with the game or be left behind. The "we like our guys" and "draft & develop" isn't working. Thus far, everyone see's it except the Joneses. Its arrogance and ineptitude in their thinking.

Nah...I aint dissing that. He's been a tough hombre...a team guy, but we need fresh legs at rb. All things come to an end.
From Jethro’s point of view Zeke is still very marketable . His jersey is still a top seller. And Jethro would like to keep together his Dak & Zeke duo.

We always have to remember that promoting our iconic brand comes first over winning championships .

The only time "wildcat Jerry" was a good thing was when Jimmy Johnson was there to aim his silly arse in the right direction.
agree and he has since surrounded himself with lackies and yes men. The team media Mike Fisher is example 1. He's the Juluis Caesar of the league is Jerry.

0 doubt.

I think Jethro sees it but still doesn’t want to change . And with record revenue doesn’t have to.

I am asking this because the last time we did anything remotely 'wildcat-ish' was back in 2012..thats 11 years back. Is that version of Jerry locked away forever in a time capsule and a distant memory of better days gone by... or will he at least attempt to recapture a bit of the Dallas swagger either(OR BOTH) on draft day or free agency? Give me your thoughts and ideas on IF he might dust the mothballs off and if he does, what moves should he do first going forward...short of him firing himself , because thats not a viable option. Lets put our GM hat on guys and be realistic. What makes the most sense?

Every year we keep hearing :
Jerry is going to realize his mortality and that he knows he is getting towards the end of his life and he is going to go all in, swing for the fences and go for it.
AND, every year its the same: play it safe off season.
So based on the past, I would say expect more of the same.

I think that yr is coming next yr. While they can I don't think they will.

First thing I might do is trade a 3rd in 2023 and a 4th in 2024 for Hopkins. That is bold and reasonable. Then I would draft best available at 26, wr again as well..somewhere in there has to be a stud lineman. As far as receiver, this draft is loaded with studs. I like Trey Palmer, Hyatt, and Parker Washington. My pet cat is Tyler Scott the bearcat wr. He's like Lockett in Seattle.if we can nab 1 of these guys in the draft and pair them with Ceedee/Hopkins etc...the team will be much better. We lack team speed offensively.

Jerry has definitely had his share of bad wildcatting decisions (see Roy Williams WR trade as one example), but at least those years gave us some form of excitement that they were making moves. Even if it was false hope, at least it felt like they were trying. Now all we get are rumors that something "big" is coming, and, that big will be some old washed up player.

exactly..then enter Mike Fisher telling us 2 basically simmer down and like the fact we been 12-5 last 2 years & be satisfied instead of spoiled. Thats now the new standard around here.

:hammer:EXACTLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope not. That is the guy who traded up for Clay Shiver and Kavika Pittman. Overdrafted DE for 4 years straight. Constantly signed washed up VFA.

That is what it was like when Jerry was running the show. That is why it is so obvious to me that he doesn't run personnel acquisition anymroe.

The last thing we need is the old Jerry back. The guy gets fleeced on every trade, gives huge contracts to clowns like Zeke and signs the wrong overpriced other FA's.

Actually the last thing we need is Jerry on another full blown QB search. 15 year disaster until he got lucky with Romo.

He picked David LaFleur instead of Randy Moss.

I'd feel better knowing Will McClay made the "wildcat" decision, rather than Jerry. Jerry's judgment is, far too often, pure hogwash. :omg:

But Dak’s and his INT arm contract does not count as a clown?
By your logic that you just pointed out, that huge contract is worse than Zeke’s
