It matters what Jerry Jones is satisfied with. Hopefully, he would be furious with another playoff loss.

Most of this staff rationalized the one and done two years ago and Phillips claimed they were in essence 1-1. So I doubt they would be that upset. Disappointed? Of course, anyone is when their season ends. But there would not be much introspection, which is what is needed when that happens. I only care about Jones' perception. If he is happy with that, and elects to go forward thinking continuity will solve that, then we have a problem.Doomsday101;3199930 said:I would hope the players and coaches would be upset with winning only 1

In fact, that is my biggest fear. I fear a close loss that has everyone thinking it was just a bad day. We have seen that kind of pathological sunshine pumping before two seasons ago. The "we'll get 'em next year" mindset should not be applicable. They have talked about how the past does not matter and that this team is about right now. Well, right now is about this game and this season. There should not be any thought to tomorrow. Treating the game as a collection of moments and thinking the big picture is what counts does not do much to solve the problems. It is basically denial.
As bad as 44-6 was, it did shake people up and got some action. There have been enough warm fuzzies lately about the division title and the shutouts that I worry if the simplicity of a loss in the opening round would have the effect that is needed. If we don't win a playoff game, there has to be real change, whether that be with the staff, the philosophy--something.
The worst thing to happen would be for the loss to be rationalized and brushed off. I don't expect that loss to happen this week mind you, but if it does, there had better be some serious thought devoted as to why and appropriate action taken.

What comes next??? HOLY COW... we made a n 8-8 season I AM SATISFIED!!!!!!
We need to be and pursue what we are... THE NFL's MOST IMPORTANT FRANCHISE PERIOD... AMERICAS TEAM!!!!!!
EDIT: Or have your forgotten how PATHETIC was that win a few seasons ago when Wade took over the defense and we celebrated as if we had won the frigging Superbowl against Tampa bay?? Is that want you want???

When asked about why he hasn't extended Wade Phillips contract when he himself stated that the paperwork was ready, Jerry Jones basically said he opted not to extend Wade Phillips' contract right now as a sort of "motivational" tool so the Coaching Staff and the Players won't get too relaxed.
Unfortunately, if we lose Saturday, there is already an excuse, which is it is hard to beat a team 3 times in a Season.
That is what you will hear if we lose to the Eagles.
And I don't believe there will be any major changes.
