No, I would NOT be satisfied. I want to DESTROY the E-gals/fecals, then move on and at least GET to the SuperBowl. But I think if/when we beat the fecals, we actually win the whole shooting match.
Getting to the Super Bowl is hard. Winning a playoff game should not be. I would be ecstatic just to get that monkey off the back. But it would be more relief than satisfaction. A loss to say the Vikings or Saints would be tough to stomach, but it would be easier to swallow. Nothing short of getting to the big game should bring "satisfaction". Even losing that is not an option if you get there.

Darkhound, while I applaud your support of our beloved Cowboys... there is a 31/32 chance of failure every year...
Which makes it even more remarkable that we will have had success 6 times after this February.:p:

Owners, coaches, players and fans are rarely (if ever) satisfied with losing. In my opinion, that is really not the important question. The important question is how this team's owner, coaches, players, fans and the media which follows it handles that particular scenario. In fact, I am also interested in seeing how all aforementioned parties will handle two-and-out OR three-and-out OR even four straight.

If the Cowboys beat Philly and lose to Minnesota, I'd be disappointed but not angry.

I can never figure out posters who say they will be happy with one playoff win! What kind of nonsense is that? What good is that?

That is like taking a girl out on a date and ALMOST getting some!

Hell, no...the season is too long to be happy with just one playoff win...that is so ignorant. I want a SuperBowl...that will make me happy. A loss won't make me angry, but will dissapoint me a little...but, I just move on.

But, to just want ONE playoff win...

Jerry Jones even says "I don't go around singing the blues about not winning a playoff game, I go around singing the blues because of not winning another Superbowl."

You know what bothers me the most is that BS about winning a playoff game. This crap is a double edged sword. You think if the Dallas Cowboys beat the Eagles on Saturday and lose the following week to the Vikes they are going to get credit? Heck no, and why the heck should they?

Is it embarrassing that we haven't won a playoff game in nearly 15 years? You are darn right it is embarrassing. But if any of you guys think winning 1 playoff game means ANYTHING to this franchise you are clueless. This team has 5 SUPERBOWL championships, 8 Superbowl appearances, 30 playoff appearances, and 15+ Division Championships. Do you guys think winning 1 playoff game is going to add anything to this franchise? The answer is HECK NO.

There is 1 goal each and every year and that goal is to win the Superbowl. The saying is people do not remember who came in 2nd place, you think they are going to remember who came in 8th place? It is Superbowl or bust for every franchise. We aren't the frickin Detroit Lions over here, winning 1 playoff game IS NOT what this team is about.

If you want to argue that we need to win a playoff game to shut everyone the heck up, then fine, but you can guarantee that the next thing you will hear every week is about how, yeah, they won a playoff game but when the stakes got bigger they choked again. Forget winning 1 playoff game, it wont and shouldn't solve anything. This team is a Championship caliber team and that is what our fans SHOULD expect.

I don't go as far as saying it is SB or bust, of course I want to see this team in the championship and winning it that is the ultimate goal for everyone out there. However I think this team making it to the NFC Championship game win or lose would have to be looked at as a major positive for this franchise at this point and time. Of course I would not be satisfied nor do I think the team would be but when you have not sniffed success in a good while seeing big steps in that direction I don't think can be looked at as some type of failure

I did not read this whole thread but for me, 1 win just raises expectations, it does not lower them!

In any game, 2nd place is failure. Always has been, and always will be.

Nothing short of greatness is terrible in my book. We need to go out, and get angry in the playoffs. Get Philly back one more time for what they did to us last year. Remind the Giants fans we WE still are the best.

I think you have to embrace baby steps. When your baby gets old enough to take that first step you are excited about it, But are satisfied with only one step? Of course not, you want them to keep working on it and learn how to put steps together. This is a team that is learning and taking baby steps in the right direction.

So don’t tell me winning a playoff game means nothing. To me as a fan, that means everything. I am so sick of hearing ”they havent won a playoff game in so so years”. I don’t care about the Super Bowl, that is miles away...i want a freaking playoff win. For you it may mean nothing, but for me it does and it means everything to Romo, Wade, Jerry and the Cowboys.

Uh...the baby steps started in pre-season! The team is now walking and running upright. If you feel like the child loses the race is OK, then that is your opinion...have fun with it.

But, next time the race is on, I hope your child is not to old to even get to see the finish line.

Again, 2nd place is for losers. Have fun with that if it satisfies you.

While I won't be saying "Ah, good, we won a playoff game so now I'm not nervous for the next game"; IF we beat the Eagles and lose in the next round, I'll eventually be happy with the season. Not the day after, not the week after, and not the month after; but for a team that had "no shot" at making the playoffs in the eyes of the so-called experts; turning around and beating the team that embarrassed us last year in 2 straight weeks to end their Superbowl dreams will put a smile on my face.

Never said it would satisfy me. The person i quoted said winning a playoff game ment nothing. That point i dissagree with. And three weeks ago everyone was writting off the Cowboys, so don’t tell me they have been walking upright since preseason.

I don't think you can talk about baby steps. This is a football team that has the talent to go to the Superbowl. It is up to the players and coaches to go out there and get it done.

It's great to talk about the confidence it gives you in following years and so forth and experience matters and all that but, when you have a year when all of your talent is still on the field in the playoffs and not injured, you have to take advantage of that.

When you have all the pices in place you have to get it done. The only piece that we don't have in place IMO is FG kicker and if it comes down to that, it is going to be a shame of epic proportions!

Not saying it is a failure if you don't but these are the opportunities you look for as a fan and the team itself!

Winning a playoff game mean jack squat...nothing!

You think Ali went into the fight against Foreman in the "Thrilla In Manila" thinking that if he just puts up a good fight that everything will be cool?

Huh? Champions don't think like that, because opportunities don't come along that many times.

And if you think winning one playoff game means anything next year, or that the Cowboys will be a better team next year because they won ONE playoff game, then have at it.

That's like saying we won ONE battle, but lost the war. Yeah, that feels good....

And the Cowboys have to go on the road (in domes!) twice to get to the Super Bowl! Would be an extremely difficult road to go. The Cowboys can do it, but they needed to have that 2nd seed to have an easier shot. Thats why i think winning a playoff game this year could set us up for next season if we don’t make it all the way.

I understand what you are saying and it is sound, that experience is helpful, but you could have the experience next year and a key player goes down and you are out of luck.

By the way, I don't really think we are going to have to play 2 Dome games to win the NFC unless NO gets itself straightened out, but it is possible and it is a tough road no doubt!
