Not sure how we can be a SB team if we can’t even win our division which we aren’t expected to do?............this is a new season new roster new coaches,
so you cant say they have failed yet , it remains to be seen.

or have an Elite defense.......... our defense is elite .

if you look at points allowed and take off the ones that came from offense turnovers , I would venture it is elite.
They just need the offense to not give up easy points.
I’m saying if we don’t win our division. That’s not saying we won’t. How I present it is critical.

And until our defense is ranked at the top I wouldn’t define as Elite or Generational. Does it have potential to rise to that level. Yes.

Top NFC seed in 2007.

Top NFC seed in 2016.

I would rather the team finish runner up in the NFC East, hungry, harden and prepped for a playoff run--than play for #1 seed in the conference and lack the fire of their fellow six playoff contenders.

I’d take any seed but 5,6 or 7.
The seventh seed I would agree with but not the fifth or sixth seeds. The 2007 New York Giants and 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers were fifth seeds and held Lombardis. The 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers and 2010 Green Bay Packers won championships as sixth seeds.

That is the kind of grit and determination this team needs this season. Win everything regardless of the seed.

No doubt this Cowboys team is ranked as 3rd best in NFC. Unfortunately that’s still 2nd best in our division.

And regardless if we have second best record in NFC if we don't win division means it will take 3 wins on the road in the playoffs to reach SB.

That’s not a position of strength for a team which hasn’t had much playoff success. And stacks the odds against us.

And why I’d argue if we want to elevate our opportunity to advance deeper this year which is our apparent goal we must win division and have at least one playoff game at home .
I would say no excuses 1 seed or 7th. It is and always will be Super Bowl or Busg!

I would say not winning the East isn't that big a deal cuz you're probably playing the first of three games against the NFC South (I'm penciling Dallas in slot 5) which shouldn't provide much opposition if the Cowboys are as good as we hope. If a team in South cannibalizes the others division competitors, and the NFC North rep. is in slot 4, I think it gets a little hairier.

But, the bigger concern is two more-than-likely consecutive games against the Philly and the 9er's. Regardless of the location, those two back-to-back is a big ask particularly when you'll be facing one of them coming off a bye, and then the other after they've beaten lesser opponents in their own house.

It's not a dire situation if the team doesn't win the East, but yes, I've just convinced myself that the road does become much more difficult.

I’m not sure how we can realistically argue we’d rather have road games in the playoffs.

I don't care if we win the division or not as long as we get into the playoffs and win out there. NFC East titles haven't done jack crap for us.

Right…And that’s my argument is it enhances our opportunities if we are at home . I can’t imagine fans truly believe they like our chances more on the road.

I don't see winning the division as a priority this season. I say get in the tournament and then take care of your business in the playoffs. The Eagles are getting so overhyped by the media. The pressure is on them.

It is not about preference. Or it should not be about preference. I should be that this team has the will to beat any team at home or ON the road in the playoffs.

Seriously. What has the team's preference served them the last two times they secured the BEST NFC seed? To paraphrase Herm Edwards, "You play to win games regardless where they are."

Maybe it is to you but SB or bust isn’t a reasonable or realistic expectation.
Well hopefully its the teams expectations! Or why the hell are they playing. Why isn't it reasonable!?! Let's just win the East and a game in the postseason, even if we don't win it all we win the division!?

While it’s always the ultimate goal by the team while it isn’t a SB or Bust mentality . As some have suggested we should fire everyone and start over. That’s ridiculous. Lol

Sure there’s frustration and disappointment but what teams fans who haven’t been to a championship game in decades expect to win a SB , just foolish rhetoric.

Let’s at least get there , then we can raise expectations.

Understood . My argument is what enhances our opportunity to advance in the playoffs.

Playing lower seeds at home or higher seeds on the road ?

Regardless of what you think, the goal is to get in to the playoffs by anymeans neccessary. If there is no expectations from there then yes fire them. As a fan seeing a team like thos and how close we have been YES i fully expect to go deep in the playoffs with the mindset that we can actually win it all. Come on now. Don't tell me your the bitter fan that's just happy with a playoff win or 2!?!
