Playing lower seeds at home or higher seeds on the road ?

I am sure the overall league percentages favor home teams favor playing lower seeds.

How has the higher NFC playoff seed favored Dallas this century?

ok I might agree with this if things go south but i need to see HOW exactly you move on from Dak in 2024 and not lose PArsons or Diggs or Osa or Zack Martin thats the thing a huge cap hit is gonna dictate your moving on from others..we going rebuild with this young defense we are all excited about? Regardless of what you think, the goal is to get in to the playoffs by anymeans neccessary. If there is no expectations from there then yes fire them. As a fan seeing a team like thos and how close we have been YES i fully expect to go deep in the playoffs with the mindset that we can actually win it all. Come on now. Perhaps for other teams but is that necessarily true for Dallas? Maybe this team must face more adversity representative of a lower seed than that afforded to the higher seed, which has failed them in the past. That is all I am saying.

I share in the majority of your opinions here.
With that said, the NFL success triangle of GM, HC and QB1 all performing their individual jobs at an outstanding rate is key.

Dallas has reached a stand still, purgatory or ceiling so far in its playoff capability with these 3 position holders.

The GM ain't changing.

However it is that the other 2 are rationalized into keeping their jobs I would not be in agreement with.

Super Bowl or bust for me based on the above mentioned line of thinking.

Most have us at 3rd best in NFC . And not winning division. Why would we pick us to win SB?

We haven’t even made it to a championship game . And why I’ll continue to shoot it down as simple fan hype until further evidence and results come in.

That’s doesn’t mean we can’t root and hope for it . But I haven’t seen anything these last couple years that would provide me more confidence than that. Let’s hope it changes.

The diference between "Any Given Sunday" and "Underperforming" does escape some here. If the Cowboys beat SF in SF last year that would've been Any Given Sunday.. so losing is not underperforming but I too was ready for the win and pissed at the outcome...

I get what your saying, no one would have given Dallas more check marks postiin by position against the SF team last year but yet we somehow "Underperformed" for the talent we had...logic doesn't always come out here.

I suppose we could argue we under performed but we also must take into account SF out performed us .

We have history not performing as well offensively against top defenses so it wasn’t really out of our character and history.

Much like in 2021 many argued the matchups didn’t favor us . I wasn’t surprised by either game. Disappointed yes.

Of course but do you like our chances better with 1 or 2 playoff games at home or all 3 on the road to make the SB?

Tough for me to imagine Cowboy fans really expect us to reach a SB needing 3 playoff road wins.

We all would like to return to such prominence but it’s not likely under Jethro.

We aren’t winning championships without an Elite QB and or Elite defense . Problem is there aren’t enough Elite QB’s to go around .

The rest of the league has to build around their less than Elite QB best they can. And it appears that’s what we are trying to do.

I’m not sure we can have those lofty expectations at this time . Anymore than anyone else without one of those Elite QB’s or Defense .

Maybe at some point we can draft or trade for one of these Elite QB’s . And maybe we can develop and build an Elite defense which looks like a greater possibility at this time. If we do then our QB might be enough.

I guess it depends on what your definition of what an elite QB is. Considering Dallas has spent years bottom feeding for QB's either using undrafted walk on type QB's or other teams rejects we will never know.

Just imagine if Dallas tried using a 1st or 2nd round draft pick on a QB. At least that would show they are actually trying to win.

Man besides last year we have been owning the East during the season. We've beaten the 49ers and we're 1 series from beating them this year, the Cheifs are beatable and anybody else. Good Lors man have SOME or a LITTLE faith in your team. Or just go be fans of the others you mentioned smh

The Chiefs are on a different level. Philly had a great roster and a QB that played out of his mind against them and it was not enough. As boring as it will be I suspect they’re going to win another Super Bowl this February.
