I'll admitt it. Though I will also say evaluating Cutler's play in Chicago I think is pointless. When was the last time a QB was succseful there? Cutler is much better than he shows. That said I would probably disagree now with someone saying Romo for Cutler but Im not sure its absolute insanity. Romo does well in Decemeber and the playoffs, then its insanity.
That Christmas in Dallas is absolutely horrible!!!!!

Singletary's never won any playoff games either you know. I'll withhold judgment on him for a while yet too.

He hasn't developed a trend for losing then yet either but that's neither here nor there. ;) I just laugh at all the knee jerking that goes on from "both" alleged "camps".

Concur...And a pointless thread, we could have these for a variety of topics to 'call out' zoners who said this or that...Seems a bit juvenile if not altogether premature....It's about as illogical as rolling out the Superbowl talk now that Dallas has won 4 in a row.

Romo's success of late is tied in no uncertain terms to a far more restrained playbook and handcuffing him from improvising as much as he did in the past.

I'm not a stat geek either so without having seen Cutler and what is happening in Chicago, I couldn't tell you if he's as bad as his stats are or whether there is more to it (i.e. personnel or Devin Hester slipping on a route that leads to an INT, etc.)

I've said it before, I'll say it again...Let's see how Romo does in December and any potential playoffs before anyone prematurely pats themselves on the back...My guess is, if it doesn't turn out positively, few of this same lot will 'own up to it'

Yea ok, what has Cutler done in Dec??? What has Cutler ever done period??

Now how many of the posters that were willing to trade romo for Cutler "in a heartbeat" are willing to answer up and admit that they not only missed on their evaluation of Cutler but also on their evaluation of Tony Romo?

It took 10 seconds with the search button to find a funny post from a few months back where a good amount of veteran posters were ready to send our QB to denver for that bloated ego maniac.

Read through and remember how bad the Romo hatred and Cutler love was around here.

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147809&highlight=cutler+romo

I wasn't one of those guys....but I will say that no way could a full evalution of Cutler be made at this point....so no way anyone could admit to missing on an incomplete evaluation. I think he has 45 starts (maybe 46)--not quite 3 full seasons. Peyton Manning had 58 interceptions after 3 seasons and Cutler has 49 so far. Their completion percentages and total yards are similar as well after 3 seasons. We'll know more in a year or two....

The Playmaker exposed the double standard that players are judged by today. Romo has outplayed Cutler from the day he stepped under center. But yet, Cutler is the golden boy and Romo has to be perfect.

I was sooo glad to see that INT in the end zone. I don't like girly men.

Cutler's been struggling most of the year, no doubt. All I'm saying is that the jury is still out on which of these guys is the better QB. Romo has turned it around this year and I'm as happy as anyone about that. But who's to say Cutler won't do the same at some point?

:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Dude, you are the only freaking poster on this board that thinks the jury is still out.

The jury already dileberated, rendered a verdict, and went home. Feel free to turn out the lights when you are done.:laugh2:

All Cutler has to do is win a playoff game and he's surpassed Romo's accomplishments.

Well, at least Romo is safe for another year because Cutler aint winning jack this year.

Yeah, and the last 2 seasons Romo is right up there with the best of them in that dept. So what?

Cutler also has more pass attempts than ANYONE ELSE IN THE LEAGUE.

Combine that with very poor offensive line play (have you seen what Forte has done this year? Nothing), and a group of WR's that wouldn't start on any other team, and just what do you expect Cutler to do?

And lets not mention that the Bears D in the last month has been atrocious. They have been behind by 20-30 pts at halftime in 2 of the last 3 games?

Do a little more research......Roofus.

Wow, a Bears apologist.

Funny how a poor o-line, bad WRs, and atrocious D is now an excuse for throwing picks. Funny, I watched the Bears vs Niners game on NFL Network Thursday and the last play of the game Cutler had plenty of time and threw the ball right to the DB standing in the end zone. The guy didnt even have to move his feet, Cutler hit him right between the numbers.

I guess that wasnt Cutler's fault either:rolleyes:

He's on a leash, there's no doubt about that...Adding wrinkles to the playbook doesn't change that...If anything it simply adds support to the argument that they want to keep Romo from improvising and having to sit back there in the pocket and check down or look for his 3rd option.

I suspect, for the foreseeable future, we won't be seeing Tony do that

Dude, if there was no doubt about it then why are you like the only guy in this thread that thinks this???

By definition, it there was no doubt then it would be obvious to the average person. Considering that many, many posters in this thread are disagreeing with your analysis seems to debunk this as "no doubt" and seems to indicate this is simply your own opinion and nothing more.

Just saying.

If memory serves me correctly, Jimmy wanted Steve Walsh over Aikman as well.

Looks like the Jimster needs to stay out of the QB evaluation talk.

Many have been quick to criticize the OP for making this thread, I however found it quite revealing and entertaining...

I didn't reply in the original thread, but if I had, I would have taken Romo over Cutler... And that has more to do with their attitudes than football skills... Cutler acted like a big baby when he found out McDaniels was listening to other offers... He made it a much bigger deal than it had to be! How many times have we heard this from players "it's the nature of the business".... Cutler is waaay too sensitive to ever flourish as the Cowboys QB!

It is early to evaluate the Cutler for Romo scenario, but even if Cutler matches Romo in the stats department, he's still only won half the battle... Romo's ready to lead his team, Cutler's not...

He won a Super Bowl in 1986. :) Oh as a coach? :D Player/Coach? Doesn't matter to me. He has been there so he knows what it takes to get there. Has Wade been there as a player or as a coach?

To the SB? No, but he has been past the first round of the playoffs as a DC and has almost always produced winning seasons and tons of PB worthy performances out of his players whenever he has been DC or HC for a team.

Deion Sanders has also won Super Bowls.

Actually, he's won more Super Bowls than Singletary and Wade.... combined.

Clearly, he understands better than both what it takes to get there (as evident by having been to more/won more Super Bowls).

He would be a much better coach than Singletary.

Sanders scoffs at Singletary's hill.

This thread is pointless. Cutler had a horrific game, so now he's a bum?

How many people would have traded Romo away after his 5 int game against buffalo last year?

What about Warners 5 int game two weeks ago. Is he a bum?

The timing of these threads amaze me.

So are the the pointless ramblings of posters wanting to trade the best QB Dallas has had in years. I love these threads, because it shows who was right and who was completely wrong. Man it feels great watching so many fellow fans eat crow the last few weeks. I really appreciate the fans who admit their mistakes (usually made in the heat of a loss) come back and admit they were wrong. Been quite a few of those lately.
