My 2010 FA shopping list
Marcus McNeil. BYEBYE FLO!!
Dawan Landry. Bye Hamsucks!
Johnnie Jolly. Added D-line depth.

That's all I want. Very simple. Those would fill huge holes on our team. Use the Draft to get Gilyard,Iupati and Brandon Carter

Goodnight Sally.

Slate, if 2010 is uncapped (ie, no CBA reached) and it looks like it will be, none of these guys will be unrestricted free agents.

If 2010 is not uncapped, we won't be able to afford them.

With our luck if we got McNeill his back condition would flare up.
we could have had him...we got Fasano instead. How awful was our 2006 draft!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Fasano bust forced us to draft Benett, which means we passed up on DeSean Jackson. Makes me want to holler!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fasano didn't have to be traded in the first place. And even after he was traded, we still could've drafted DeSean instead of Bennett if we had chosen to. It's not like we didn't already have Witten and just had to use a 2nd round pick to replace Fasano.

Jackson was drafted by Philly before Dallas picked Bennett in the 2nd round.

I hate that 6 yr rule.

If it's capped I think we can easily afford those guys. We have TO's 9 mil coming off the books and we can save money by cutting players. Hamlin. Ehem!

I think you could sign Mcneil,Jolly,Landry and Ware to deals.

We're about $11 million under the cap right right now.

However, we have several players due to have large increases in their yearly salaries (cap hits) next season:

Flozel -$4mil
Barber -$3mil
Bigg Davis -$4.25mil
Newman -$8mil
Romo - $7.8mil

Keep in mind that most of these guys are in the first half of their contracts and would be a greater cap hit to cut than to keep on the team.

Furthermore, keep in mind that Ware, Spears, Austin, Hurd, etc will be free agents next year as well.

If there is a cap next season, we're not going to be able to afford a bunch of free agents.

Also...we'd only save about $2 mil cutting Hamlin next year.

Oh alright. I didn't know those players salaries spiked that much.

would not have mattered if we had wanted him....did I add we would not have traded for ROy had we drafted DeSean. We thought he was to small to play in the NFL.

1. Tackle
2. WR - Boldin
3. DE/OLB - Peppers

And did someone say Laron Landry is going to be a free agent?

Adam will have to weigh in, but I think the uncapped year has specific rules that will keep teams like the Cowboys from being able to sign several free agents.

Dawan Landry. Laron's older brother. He's just as good and only 27 years old.

I would much rather have Laron Landry.

Of course, but Dawan isn't that far off from Laron. He's a playmaker and has been playing in that Ravens ball-hawking system for 4 years now.

That hasn't been proven to be wrong BTW. If he's this same size in two years his career is going to be over. He's far too small for a receiver and right now it hasn't hurt him because he hasn't had much contact.

I also thought there was a stipulation that would essentially extend Ware's and all other rookie contracts a year.

Maybe Adam can clarify if he gets a chance.
