Yeah, it's really deviant to do a YouTube search for a draft prospect. I've been owned...

McQ played quite a bit during preseason when the Hotel was not due to tweaking his leg. That was when he got a lot of notice from other teams.
So there is more then just camp stuff. I think that we maybe draft another second day tackle to develope and keep on the practice squad. MOre likely to use a higher pick on getting someone to backup Gurode.

I think any other Olineman we get will be via they draft

Exactly.

Where's that late round Center/Tackle combo hiding? Do they even make those?

Kyle Young from Fresno State is a center that some scouts feel can play tackle...

kyle young is the best center, and ill say top 5 guard in this draft. he has the size the strength the attitude the high and the footwork to be the next logan mankins. who wouldnt like that? and if u look at both, they're actually identical

another thing he never allowed a sack in his college career. i dont care where u play football. thats saying something. and its not like fresno plays slouches

Mike Otto from Purdue would be a good 2nd day pick. He player LT all 4 years but would supposedly make an all american guard.

Kosier=Fabini

I see Kosier as your backup to 4 positions on game day...

this team needs another starting G, hopefully the scouting dept. can come up with a player to draft after the first 90 or so picks!

this team hasnt drafted an OLman to start as a rookie in some time!

Joe Berger

Combine: 5.18 in the 40-yard dash … 3.04 20-yard dash … 1.84 10-yard dash … 4.62 20-yard shuttle … 7.77 three-cone drill … 27-inch vertical jump … 8-foot broad jump … Bench pressed 225 pounds 30 times … 32 1/8-inch arm length … 9-inch hands.

sure is quick enough, and at 6'5", can add alot more weight to his frame and still keep that quickness

My worry with Young is his off-field issues... he seems like a bit of a head case...

Yeah, but I sure don't like reading about what a "finesse" player he is...

That gives me Al Johnson flashbacks...

Al Johnson's problem was not being strong enough, and not playing w/ proper knee-bend

And reading the scouting report provided, it sounds like that's Berger's problem too-- not strong enough...

That's pretty much what they mean when they describe a blocker as a "finesse" type...

no, a finesse player is one who plays small, doesn't necessarily mean they aren't strong

and it said he prefers to finesse, which means he tries to out-athlete, is that even a word? his opponent

btw, one of the definitions for finesse is 'to avoid, circumvent', in applied to an Olineman's play, a finesse player is one who doesn't like contact too much, and will try to use technique, or athleticsm to defeat a Dlineman

I think our OL is complete until the draft. I don't see anymore FA signings for the OL. I also think that with the players we have, we have tremendous flexiblity, several of them can play more than one position. Tony S said he was very happy with the progress that Proctor made at C last year, so I think they are viewing Proctor as game day back up to center and Guard with Mcq back up to the Tackles. I could see the boys taking an OL anywhere from the 2nd to the 5th depending on where we get the best value at. I don't think Flo will be back next year, so now is a good time to get another T in and next year have an open competition for LT.

whats deviant is thinking poorly of a guy for playing around.

Fabini was close to getting cut last year in TC and was prolly only on the team because he as a BP guy.. This year, he didn't make it to TC.... And to think, some cats were on here talking about him being able to replace Colombo or be a backup again...NOT!!!!!!!
