With Talks Of Adding Bollinger, Simms To Expensive?

There have been plenty reports that the Cowboys will add Brook Bollinger next week. What about Simms?

My question is Are the Cowboys interested in Simms too? Is Simms too expensive as compared to Bollinger? Does Simms still thinks he can start in this league?

Who would be a better fit?

sounds like the offensive staff, or garret at least would rather have bollinger, I dont think money has anything to do with it.

IMO with the right staff and team around him Bollinger can be a Jay Fiedler/ Billy Volek type. No great shakes or anything, but solid enuff to win a game or 2 if pressed into service with the right gameplanning.

What a revolting turn of events at 3rd QB.

Let's just go with 2 like last year and save the roster spot.

That is my thought. I like simms. I would sign him in a minute.

Bollinger though. He has been in the league 6 years and no one wants him. I dont get why garrett wants him.

...............I wouldnt be opposed to that at all. In fact im a big backer of that line of thinking. Brad Johnson will be our primary backup this year anyway, without a doubt. This way we can use a roster spot for another position. Having said that,.....its no biggy to me how they handle it. Plus,....in all reality if a team gets down to their 3rd string QB their pretty well forked anyway !..

Why would bollinger be starting? Are you expecting us to play games in the bizzarro world?

.......What are you TALKING ABOUT? Brad Johnson would be coming in if there were an injury to Romo, NOT Bollinger. Only reason they want Bollinger is to groom for the POSSIBILITY of being the backup qb NEXT season, AND.....in case Romo missed extended periods of time this season they would need a young QB on the roster as Brad wouldnt hold up more than a couple few games.

I kind of agree with you, Hostile. I think getting another WR should be first so that Witten, Owens don't have to play so many snaps.

there are plenty of other teams for you to wave your pom poms in front of.

i'll be glad to help pay for some search fees to find them if you'd like.

we need a "anger zone" where all the torqued off kiddies can go say they're keeping it real cause we suck and the rest of us can go about rational convo.

As I've told you before, folks, if this one is against it, it has to be a good move...

I rather go WR than QB at this time but I will say one thing I trust Garrett and so should all of the Cowboy fans out there.

You are probably right. If the Cowboys get to their third QB...the seasons pretty much done. But that has nothing to do with who the third QB is.

Now, tell us WHY you say that... give us good, hard facts to back up your ever-ignorant opinion...

You can't tell us one thing about Brooks Bollinger, what type of game he plays... you just don't recognize him as a big name, so he "sucks"...

To tell the truth, I wasn't thrilled when I first heard of the Cowboys' interest in him, but unlike you, I went and did some research on the guy, and I was kinda surprised at what I found... you'd do well to go find out what you're talking about before going off on another of your braindead tirades, too...

While I agree with you, I'm curious as to why you're so negative about the prospects of a Bollinger, ol' buddy... from what I've seen, when given the chance the last coupla years, he's put up some pretty fair numbers while getting very little in the way of pass protection... this leads me to wonder what he could do with a good offensive line in front of him, and with the caliber of receiving talent that the Boys have to offer...

Unlike the rock-head, I know when you're negative, there's a reason, and I'm curious as to what your thinking is on Bollinger... I know my initial reaction was that he was kinda small for the position, and had bounced around some...

Let me note for about the jillionth time that I'd still prefer Simms... but Bollinger isn't NEAR as bad as some of the uninformed in here are trying to make him out to be, IMO...
