I have a hard time buying DL in round 1, the value just won't be there IMO. Far easier to sign one of the top 6 DEs and one of the top 6 DTs who will be just as good (and which as long as it isn't Suh we can afford) then try to reach for one in the draft because so many teams ahead of us will going DL. DB I can buy... but I think we will likely have to reach there as well as I think (if Trae Waynes lasts to 27, which I have seen mocks suggesting he will, I would take him without a second thought, but he is really the only guy I can see). If Gordon is there round 1, then he will be the best value most likely.

Yea this year will hopefully give us that option. FA is full of good-great DTs and DEs this year. If we could somehow get say... Knighten and Hughes (sorry... just love Knighten... I know he is more of a NT than a 1-tech, but I still think he could be great on our d-line) then we will be set on our starting d-line for next year, and can truly take BPA.

We need to do some d-line upgrading during free agency. Otherwise your almost forced to reach for d-line in round 1. Upgrading through free agency opens up your options at #27 and taking Gurley or Gordon would be good value here. Even if you sign Murray.

It's all about using free agency to keep all your options open at draft time.

Exactly, if we can enter the draft with a serviceable player everywhere... that will be huge when it comes to the draft because then it will be true BPA no matter where we are.

I have a feeling it's going to be Gurley. Gorden will be gone and Gurley would have gone 10 spots higher then Gorden if it wasnt for the ACL
