Very popular choice with those who talk about BPA, only if it matches their guy
In no world is EE the best player at 4
I like EE but think we need defense and that is closer to following your board

I'm torn. Been wanting Goff or Wentz since day 1. That's not going to be a option.. I wanted Jack but he has knee issues.. I don't think any RB is worth #4 especially when you have minimal talent on Defense .. Ramsey will for with the rest.. No interceptions. Bosa scares me...I think it's going to be a complete surprise. Lynch, Spence, Buckner, Hargraeves..

McFadden got 1k yards last year. McFadden.

Will Elliott be worth the extra yardage over what McFadden got, mostly without Romo and a healthy Dez?

I get they want the triplets again. However, I don't see Elliott being the only productive back out of this draft. Much rather keep on drafting backs out of the 3rd/4th round, and go after Ramsey/Bosa.

I just don't see the worthiness of drafting a back high in the first round. Not like they'll pony enough to extend a running back, especially if he wants top 5 $.

I don't understand the rationale here when you can most likely get Ramsey in the first and possibly Derek Henry in the second.

Someone stated above but McFadden got 1000 yards behind this offensive line. There is no reason to take a running back with the fourth pick in the draft

I hope that is not the choice. Not that I think EE is a bad player, I don't. I think he will be a good player in the NFL. I also think he would be a total waste of a pick for us at 4. If Romo and Dez are healthy that does more for our run game, 3rd down offense and defense than any rookie RB will ever do. IF they don't stay healthy, EE won't make a difference at all. I think we draft Wentz.. that's right, I said it. Eagles are doing a smoke screen and are going to pick Ramsey 2 overall. Tunsil to the Chargers at 3 or some team that trades up to get him at 3.. and we get Wentz :)

I like boomer but valid point. We can get a very good RB later. He may not be as complete as EE but you have to consider the other player you get and he can learn to be a blocker. It's not like we don't have guys already who can block or like we are going to play one guy the whole game

Henry is a one-trick pony. Straight ahead. Doesn't catch the ball well. Not really that physical for his size. Takes a while to get to top speed.

Elliott can do EVERYTHING. Tremendous pass blocker and receiver. Runs inside tough, and outside quick. Can break away. Never have to take him off the field.

Very, very different backs.

The report I saw had Henry as the fastest accelerator for the first 5 yards and EE having better lateral movement. Although I haven't watch either play extensively.

Very true and pray we can get a trade down partner. There's just not the same value @ 4 you would usually see in the top 5. We got jibbed a bit there so hope to make the best out of it w/hopefully SD taking Ramsey so we can dangle Tunsil as bait, etc.

Stop getting everyone's hopes up:D Would be great but all that ammo to trade up is usually for a QB. ATL did do a similar move for Julio Jones (already had Ryan) but that was the last time I can remember that much ammo used on a non QB. :(

While I don't think Henry is a one trick pony you missed the point. Much more can improve this team in different areas and still get a very good back in later rounds. No reason to waste the high draft pick on a RB. Darren McFadden...I repeat Darren McFadden without Romo and Dez and not starting the first 3-4 games of the season ran for 1000 yards. It doesn't take an elite running back to product behind our line.

The reason the Playmaker chose Elliot is because the health of Romo is the most important consideration in choosing a player. Elliot is not only the best all around runner in the draft and a good receiver but he is an excellent blocker and protector of the quarterback in passing situations. That means any quarterback, but it is especially necessary to protect the one most essential player the team now has. The other running backs now on the roster or available in this draft aren't as good at it. Elliot can do the same things for Romo and the Cowboys that E. Smith did for his quarterback and the Cowboys.
