I hope he dresses out and pretends to be mad and ready to play. Sheesh, we should have traded him a couple of years back when he had value. He's now just a cut-and-walk guy now. Heck, he can't even work at Home Depot or lowes now.
Why would he need to do that? Seems an oddly placed diss.

PLAYOFFS, are you seriously thinking that this is a PLAYOFF TEAM???????? Far from when a highly regarded defense can't even stop a team like Arizona. Far from it when their all world QB couldn't even match the ability of Green Bay's Jordan Love when he led his shorthanded offense to a victory against a team that is expected to be far better than Arizona's team. This club is going to struggle to be competitive in their own division, let alone having a winning record that will enable them to make the playoffs.
I was looking for some humor today, thank you for providing it

I'm not sure. I thought Tyler was the more logical choice considering that he was drafted to be the eventual replacement for Tyron and was a tackle in college. No better way to give him reps than in a game.
Tyler looked bad at LT when Chuma went out with the elbow strain.

I do think this is still a playoff team. I think last week was a game where the Cowboys slept on an opponent, and it's a long season. Overall though, we still have a solid defence and an offense, other than one interception last week, that has been pretty good about protecting the ball. I trust Dan Quinn to fix what went wrong last week. Plus, the NFC isn't that strong, so, we may be able to make it by default.

I understand that we have to have some hamburger mixed with the steak. I wrote this thread to give my opinion of what I think the best way to mix them in is.
You didn't get the Cowboys Zone memo?
There are certain procedural protocols in place in order to participate here.
And one of those is for all opinions shared to be filtered through bb70 in order to determine if your opinion meets HIS standard.
There are a couple of other know it all filter types here too as I'm sure you know.

Of course no big deal though,
Ignore is a cool function too. Lol

Now you've done it! Expect a 50 page essay post right back at you that you won't read because nobody wants to read one of those.

See, I rarely use it because I find it more entertaining, usually, not to use it.

There were many reasons the Cowboys didn't draft that player. It's been well documented and debated in here since.
And I did NOT say anything about that. I said that I was angry that we did not take him.

Schoonmaker v. Torrence -2023-draft

"The Cowboys offensive line has been a mess by most standards and while young players like T.J. Bass and Asim Richards have given Dallas reasons for optimism, neither are the quality of player Torrence appears to be."

TJ Bass is grading out better than he is currently and plays both Guard spots.

Torrence was not on teams list due to scheme we run.

Interesting enough the guard they liked in the 1st is grading out much lower than both Bass and Torrence
"RG T.J. Bass - 39.7

Undrafted rookie T.J. Bass was the only lineman who had a worse run blocking grade than Hoffman. Problem is Bass also struggled in pass protection, giving up three pressures and tying Edoga for the team lead. Like Hoffman, this is about in line with the realistic expectations for Bass in his first career start, but it’s still not good."

"The Cowboys played three backups on OL against the Cardinals and they struggled (understandably). How much? Per @PFF T.J. Bass 33.3 pass block grade- 3 pressures, 3 hurries Chuma Edoga 56.1 PB grade - 3 pressures, 2 hurries, 1 QB hit. Brock Hoffman- 75.9 PB grade- 0 pressures"

Yet, somehow, PFF has him at a grade of 66.5 to Torrance's 61.5, but Torrance has about 100 more snaps. So, just for the record, I did NOT say that Bass is trash. Again; I said that, in APRIL, I was angry that we had such an opportunity and did NOT seize it even though we KNEW that the long term plan was to move Tyler Smith to LT, thus leaving a need for a long term solution at LG.

I feel like Jerry Jones and crew is good at picking 1st rounders, but fails to complete the draft beyond that point. 2nd and 3rd round is important as well, especially when you consider you have to pick up those players that might not be fully developed yet but will be further down the road…

Also can’t help but notice that challenger in your profile pic is that yours? I have a 2017 392 shaker with 45K miles on her, gonna trade er in soon for a newer scat
Hmm. If I were to venture a complete and total guess, I would say that the 1st round is done by consensus, the 2nd and 3rd belong to Jerry, and after that Will McClay rules the roost. Total guess.

LOL No. Homie don't got that kind of coin. It is the car that Morris Claiborne bought his parents after signing with the Cowboys. Cowboys Challenger

Too late to edit the post above...

Edit:
Oh, I see. Almost slipped by me.
Bass' grade of 66.5 was for the Pre-Season. For the Regular Season, his current grade is 52.2.
The Torrance grade of 61.5 is for the Regular season. He graded at 64.6 for the Pre-season.

You don't? You think there are 7 better teams in the NFC than the Cowboys?

Last Sunday morning some people were thinking the Cowboys were one of the best teams in the league. One loss isn't going to change that. Did you think the Cowboys were going undefeated?

I'm not convinced that IS their plan. It seems like the right plan to you and I, but they seem very determined not to move him to LT and let Edgoa play there

People should consider that Tyler may be playing guard because that’s where he’s more comfortable and effective. That’s clearly where they’ve been trying to establish him.

All this with people moving up and down the line LG, RG, C, LT reeks of fans thinking every role is interchangeable. Hell, why not move Steele to LT, move Martin to RT and start Chuma at RG?

See how silly that is?

With Tyron Smith out against the Pats, here's what I think Mike McCarthy should do. I think the oline should look like this:

Tyler Smith, Chuma or Chuma rotating with Bass, Biadisz, Martin, and Steele.

Tyler Smith was drafted as a LT. I think he's the best option that we have there. Chuma should be at Lg or rotate with Bass. Chuma had a hyperextended elbow apparently, according to Mark Holmes, so that would explain why he wasn't able to pass block much. Putting him at LG should help. If his elbow is still bothering him, then we should either rotate him with Bass or just use Bass at LG. Biadisz, Martin, and Steele should play in their regular spot. I think this would help with Tyron Smith's absence. Let's face it, this probably won't be the last time this season that we have to deal with a Tyron Smith injury. I'd use this at least until the 49ers game or even after the bye. I think it's most important that Tyron Smith is ready for the playoffs. In the meantime, this oline setup should be able to be stable for a while.
Yes. We see many examples of OL players rotating. #fail

I'm giving the Chuma and Bass thing as an either or. I think Bass has been good enough to start. I think Chuma is better at guard. So, I was saying start either or rotate. I don't mind which McCarthy uses of those options.

I think the problem there is that Zach likes being at RT, and I'm not about to mess about with a Hof guard.
