I'm still angry that they had the consensus best guard in the draft sitting there in the second round and did NOT choose him. Still SMH...
There were many reasons the Cowboys didn't draft that player. It's been well documented and debated in here since.

I hope he dresses out and pretends to be mad and ready to play. Sheesh, we should have traded him a couple of years back when he had value. He's now just a cut-and-walk guy now. Heck, he can't even work at Home Depot or lowes now.

HELL NO>. you cannot move that many positions to a cohesive group no to all this talk let the coaches deal with it. we saw what happened in 2020 when we see that mess and cannot move that many players around.

I get that, but, at least while he's got his elbow injury, i don't think it's a good idea, as evidenced by the Cardinals game, for Chuma to play LT. He's going to get Dak killed. Tyron is probably going to have another injury or two as the season goes on. So, my thinking is how to accommodate the fact that we are going to probably have several games where Tyron isn't playing. And, when he gets back, what's the best way to protect him when we need him the most.

It was only a matter of time until Tyron Smith was injured.

We do this every year...
it is not jusst that he gets injuried but when he gets injured he is out for longer than most other players. His injuries always seem to be more severe than the usual dings players get during the season.

When your star LT has lost his most important ability- availability- it’s past time to move on. Tyron has missed a whopping 33 games in 4 seasons. At this point, his only reliability is to be hurt.
I still don't think a sole would honestly consider cutting him before the end of season now. Definitely is beyond faith to see any where past the playoffs, although.

TJ Bass is grading out better than he is currently and plays both Guard spots.

Torrence was not on teams list due to scheme we run.

Interesting enough the guard they liked in the 1st is grading out much lower than both Bass and Torrence

What is it with you? OP offered an idea to be discussed here among fellow fans. Why do you have to behave in such a snarky manner all the time?
What's wrong with you questioning my responses and my opinions what's wrong with you.... Oh the irony of the hypocrisy in here... We've already discussed it to death every year we have issues with the offensive line and who's playing where and I say you gotta leave it up to the coaches... In fact we had these wild discussions all in the offseason right before the season started about the offensive line depth who would be the starting five and blah blah blah blah blah  :oldcouple:

been there done that beat with a dead horse because there's nothing here being said that hasn't been said before and in the end the coaches will make the decision..

Obviously, the coaches have the experience to know. I'm just giving my opinion of what I would like to see them do. The point of a forum is for us to share our opinions.

Not just the experience man they're watching these dudes practice every day the reps that they take... So there right now at this moment know who would be the better lineups next to each other which is also important because there's no way to cover up three massive holes along the line but with only one it's easier to switch out one player which would be left tackle and then try to cover them up with chips and a tight end on that side or run to the other side or whatever you need to do... When you have three giant holes like last week there's almost no way to cover it up they're all gonna have issues especially with your center your and your Hall of Fame right guard and left tackle out this is really not a lot you can do but hope..

Sure, but Chuma got me concerned last week with how he looked at Lt. So, that's why I was giving my opinion. Especially given that Tyler played Lt last season for a few games.

And yet we all realize that we all saw the same thing but telling you they'll be able to design plays better only having to cover up the left tackle versus trying to be all over the place feeling that giant 3 hole dam break.. They had to choose who to help more and let me tell you here's my philosophy on offense don't let the dudes come up the middle let them go around the edges so they try to solidify up the middle missing the center and the right guard more than they helped adoga.. Maybe if we have everyone back except for left tackle we'll be able to help him more and we'll be fine but he definitely wasn't Chaz green bad... Sometimes you just have to play with a subpar players that's average to below average because you can't have pro bowlers at every spot the problem was missing three can we just agree that that cannot be covered up by most teams in this league would have struggled the same way missing three starters 3 Pro Bowl starters 2 Hall of Fame starters on the same team...

I understand that we have to have some hamburger mixed with the steak. I wrote this thread to give my opinion of what I think the best way to mix them in is.

With Tyron Smith out against the Pats, here's what I think Mike McCarthy should do. I think the oline should look like this:

Tyler Smith, Chuma or Chuma rotating with Bass, Biadisz, Martin, and Steele.

Tyler Smith was drafted as a LT. I think he's the best option that we have there. Chuma should be at Lg or rotate with Bass. Chuma had a hyperextended elbow apparently, according to Mark Holmes, so that would explain why he wasn't able to pass block much. Putting him at LG should help. If his elbow is still bothering him, then we should either rotate him with Bass or just use Bass at LG. Biadisz, Martin, and Steele should play in their regular spot. I think this would help with Tyron Smith's absence. Let's face it, this probably won't be the last time this season that we have to deal with a Tyron Smith injury. I'd use this at least until the 49ers game or even after the bye. I think it's most important that Tyron Smith is ready for the playoffs. In the meantime, this oline setup should be able to be stable for a while.
PLAYOFFS, are you seriously thinking that this is a PLAYOFF TEAM???????? Far from when a highly regarded defense can't even stop a team like Arizona. Far from it when their all world QB couldn't even match the ability of Green Bay's Jordan Love when he led his shorthanded offense to a victory against a team that is expected to be far better than Arizona's team. This club is going to struggle to be competitive in their own division, let alone having a winning record that will enable them to make the playoffs.
