Witten’s greatest trait is his durability.

He’s not adding anything to the offense in terms of dynamic ability.

Eli gets crapped on by Giants fans even though he won 2 Super Bowls. Witten has never even been passed the wild card round more than twice. His time has passed, either you get mad at the coaches (which already get ripped on) or the player.

And lets call a spade a spade. He quit on this team last year because he expected this type of season. He came back once we became a contender again at the start of this season. Partially because there was a chance MNF wasn't keeping him around.

Witten quit nothing. He retired as most players his age do...........if they are great enough to play that long. He thought he was following in Romo's footsteps. But, he was awful in the MNF booth. There was zero chance they were bringing him back. Fortunately for him, Dallas made no effort to improve the TE position in his absence thus allowing him a graceful exit from MNF and an easy path back to the Cowboys.

Witten has proven himself enough over the years. He's not even in the top 15 reasons in regard to why we are 6-7.

What's funny is how some posters get their panties in such a twist when their favorite player is called out.

No, he's not the reason, but unearned starting positions are a poison to a team. And he also quit during the draft, which hamstrug the team in 2018, so it was sort of hard to replace him.
