Witten just confirmed Garrett is staying as head coach

Only two coaches improved anything here this year.

Gary brown and frank pollack. Both should be commended for an excellent season.

After the rough game in kc, the running game was good all year.

Both coaches helped that.

of course the players love garrett. I mean why chance a hard nose coach come in to this team and whip these boys into shape. Yell and scream at them. Punish them and held them accountable for their mistakes. Its a circus down at Jerry's World. Why not continue to love it and be a mediocre team?

Was it placating when campo was fired? Because its eerily similar.

Veteran team, rebuilding roster, Jerry hired the assistant coaches and kept switching them, salary cap pushed to the max and campo was not qualified.

Campo was fired and he coached three years with no quarterback. The players loved Dave campo, especially the defense.

It's no different except Garrett has squandered romo's career.

Without romo Garrett would have a similar record to campo.

I don't remember a single person saying campo needed more time, more control or required patience from the fans.

No, parcells cleaned out everyone and the results were night and day. The franchise was better for it and the fans had hope that we had a chance because we were at least trying it the right way.

Nothing different between campo and Garrett except campo was the coordinator of a Super Bowl champion and Garrett has done nothing anywhere.

I'll take the 3-13 season if it is required to REALLY grow this team.
 
I am torn over this honestly. I like Garrett, I don't think he is the worst coach in the history of sports as some have said but I think it is time for some new blood also. I want to run the ball more and give the O line a chance to take over the game. I don't think that is in Garretts DNA so I was ready to move on. I think Garrett gets a lot of blame for mis managing games when the real problem is a player not executing his assignment correctly, i.e. a hold on 3rd down that stops the clock. But it is what it is, 3 8-8 seasons in a row, losing 3 division championship games to end the year each of the last 3 years, I would have personally made a change. But I can see Jerry's thinking on this and I am ok with decision to bring him back.
 
I'm fine with Garrett as HC in 2014, as long as it's understood that it'll be a do or die year for him. And I hope he succeeds.

Jerry and Stephen are the problem. Garrett is just a symptom of the disease. Firing Garrett does nothing but appease the masses, real change will only come when Jerry is out of the football business.
