Yeah, they're going to have to hide his helmet to kee... wait, maybe that won't work either.

Just watched the PC and one thing I couldn't understand just listening live was that Wade said it *is* the kind of injury that can get worse if he plays on it before it's ready.

(Edit, well now I see WG just posted that...)

After hearing that, I say don't play him. And I bet he doesn't if it's as bad as they say. We can't take any chance of losing him for the rest of the year.

Ya, it would be pretty foolish to play him. Give him the 14 days to heal.

Agreed. Let him sit Thursday and have another 10 days after that to be ready for the Giants. It's not worth the risk, if he can make it worse by playing.

Not to mention the talent they have on defense.

They CAN keep the game low scoring, and when that happens, anything is possible.

However, we should beat them by at least ten.

I'll co-sign for you on that one.

thats a bummer.

I have to tell you though, I saw so many guys come out of piles sunday and limp around that we are lucky to not have lost anyone for awhile.

I saw both spencer and ware limp back to the huddle.

and I think witten was injured on that first drive, play action throw to him where H.B. Blades tackled him. He got yanked down by his shoes and came up and was shaking his leg.

last year seattle played washington the sunday before thursday and had nothing left for thursday and we beat the hell out of them.....I hope we are not exhausted after a physical game sunday. That is what happened in 03, that panthers game beat the crap out of the team and then the dolphins rolled in and pushed us around.

That 10 day break is going to be huge for us imho.

That's the real advantage of the Turkey Day game.

We need to heal up a bit and get ready for the stretch run. Romo and Witten banged up is a large part of why our offense stunk in December last year. Hopefully both guys are healthy come that first game in December and beyond.

I know that this hasn't been a popular sentiment this season but there has been something wrong with Witten this season. He seems to plod when running routes.

I figured it was an injury of some sort and this pretty much confirms my feelings. I say sit him a game or three. We need him to close out the season more than we need him now.

he should sit. he needs to heal up cause he's looked bad all year.

I guess if being on pace for over 80 receptions is bad...

I'll be shocked, to be quite honest, if Witten actually sits. The dude has always been that guy that seems like you'd practically have to beat him to death to make him sit out a game and even then if he could crawl out onto the field he might try.

I love his toughness.

But I agree with the others that this is a game that he could afford to sit out and let Marty B carry the load for him this time.

Witten is a tough son of a gun, but I am OK with him sitting this one out. I would much rather have him healthy and ready to go for the December run. I think it could create some unpredictability (which seems to be lacking lately) on offense.

"I expect Witten to play no matter what because it's Witten," Bennett said. "He played last year with a broken rib. He'd probably play this one even if he didn't have a foot."

This has to be one of my favorite quotes this season.

"As far as I know, it's a situation where if he's not well enough, he could hurt it more," Phillips said. "That's a big concern."

If that's true, it is a no-brainer. Sit him.
