Gronkowski is twice the player Witten is at this point in their careers and its not even close. Witten's signing bonus and guaranteed money are actually higher than Gronk's in spite of Gronkowski being signed for a year longer.

Gronk costs an average of $1,600,000 more per year but he is worth a hell of a lot more than $1.6 M more per year than Witten. This is one reason why you we choose not to sign free agent defenders.

Scandrick was a good player before his injury and shown flashes of himself once he got healthy last season. I just don't understand the expectations some people have in football players. I want a corner who can make a few plays and not give up big plays, Scandrick fits that bill and it's not like he's paid as an elite corners.

Yes the team does give out some bad contracts. Mainly Crawford, that was bad...I understand their logic trying to pay him before his market blew up but it backfired. Even so, their all pro LT is probably on one of the most team friendly contracts in the history of the league.

As far as Romo vs. Brady...

How about Candace Romo versus Gisele?

Romo makes what quarterbacks make all over the league. It's not his fault that Brady has a wife that is worth a half a billion dollars.

It's certainly not Witten's fault that he's overpaid due to the restructuring and faulty fiscal management habits of the past. He's still one of the best players ever to complement the Cowboys' franchise. If more of our competitors equalled his contributions, we'd be considerably more successful.
