No it's not. You usually see this when guys play against 3rd stringers in the first game of preseason.

There was much more to his play then just 3rd stringers. He recognized the play to make immediately and put it right on the money. Short passes, medium, long passes. He had great command as well. Arm was night and day compared to noodle Moore.

I don't disagree....I'm just saying this happens frequently. Blaine Gabbert looked like Aaron Rodgers against us.

Gabbert did look good. We have to acknowledge it. But you are right, it doesnt mean he is all world.

Gabbert has been in the league though. This Rush kid is coming in as a rookie with little knowledge of the offense and just making plays. And lets not forget he is doing with our 3rd stringers. I thought it was impressive considering the circumstances.

+1 for "McClown''...the fact they gave him ANY snaps and didn't let Rush finish the game is a damn crime IMO.

At 6ft7 and 280lbs he better be able to block.

meh, size isn't all their is to blocking. Technique is critical whether at TE or on Oline. He'll get there.

Rico was one heck of a rebound guy. He'll pickup blocking soon enough. You don't average double digit boards at 6'6" without understanding position and leverage.

I really really like Cooper Rush. The poise he plays with is so impressive. We may be forced to find a place for him on the 53 because he may not make it to the practice squad

Doesn't sound 'crazy' to me and others on this board. As for the staff, if they are that impressed with him, they should start him in an upcoming exhibition game so he can play against the ones. I think he'll have some hiccups but his upside is real and Moore is.......less.

Coopers vision, quick release and accuracy is far beyond what a rookie Free Agent usually displays.

That's what happens when you have a 4 year starter that got Central Michigan into the top 25. I remember watching the Ok St game last year where the controversy happened at the end of the game where they got an extra play, but this kid stood out. He was pretty awesome!!!

not really, Moore is bad and Rush is an UDFA rookie. We need to see if McCown can push Moore off the roster, but it looks like no to be honest.

I agree with you. Woods, Frazier, Rush, Rico, Lenny and Taco all made plays that I think help cement their roster spot.

Woods has been making plays in practice as well and seems to have passed Blanton and Frazier on the depth chart as Woods came in after Jones and Heather. I could see Woods beating out Heath by the end of training camp for that starting spot which would allow Heath to come in and roam (I think he would excel in the backup role)

Taco's spot on the roster has never, ever been in question. It was cemented the moment he was drafted.
