Even though we only won one game in 1989 1988 was a worst season because there was no hope - zero hope.

1989 - Jerry , Jimmy , 88 & 8 - hope.

This is our worst season since 1988 and Cooper Rush is playing Steve Pelluer - Kevin Sweeney can’t be too far behind.

And that is the theme of this season hopelessness. I see nothing positive now or in the future, unless Jerry surprises us all with a huge move in the off-season in the way of a coach and general manager.

That is the only thing that’s going to get us out of the NFL toilet bowl of embarrassment.

And make no mistake. We are the laughingstock of professional sports.

No other team’s quarterback showed up on Mike Tyson’s *** cheeks.

Right? We had a rookie QB and a sense the team was building. 1989 was basically an audition year for the 1988 team Jimmy inherited.
Yep - there was "HOPE!" Jimmy was wheeling and dealing and going for athleticism and SPEED! You could feel something big was coming. Now, with the poison begun with the Prescott contract, there is no hope at all - for several years. Jerry has finally gone off the rails and Stephen is so tight you can't pull a needle out of his butt with a tractor.

It was expected the Cowboys wouldn’t be good in 89. However, that team never took the beatings this team has. Many thought the current team would have a down season but not to the extent we’ve seen. The 89 team lost two games by 20+ points. This team has already lost four games by 20+ and all of them were at home. The 89 team never gave up 40 points or more. This team has given up 40+ in two games this season. The 89 team only won one game and this team will win at least 4-5 games. So far the current team is one of the worst Cowboys teams in franchise history but injuries are part of the reason.

Maybe. You might have an argument. For one, the 1989 team had Jimmy Johnson as a coach and it wasn’t strapped by the salary cap. This team has a lame duck coach, a $60 million QB, and a few guys to pay

If you mean by a pure talent measure then no. The 1989 team was putrid.
