There’s similarities between this team and the 89 team. In 89 we moved on from a number of veteran players and went with inexperienced players. It’s been the same with this team. However, the current team has suffered a ton of injuries. Can’t remember a Cowboys team being this decimated by injuries. We weren’t playing good before all the injuries but we’ve gotten worse.

There is no hope moving forward with Jerry and his moron son. It is what it is. This isn't 88 or 89. Imagine having to move on from a 65 year old Tom Landry but an 82 year old clueless GM is going to turn this ship around?

1989 was worse.
The record was worse and that was an awful team but this team is getting its doors blown off practically every week. That wasn’t happening with the 89 team. The 2024 team has to be one of the all time worse home teams in league history. We’re being destroyed at home.

It's a perfect storm to move up to the top 3 in the draft.

My fanship goes back to 1974-75. I will not get into the worst team ever discussion.

That said, I do believe the Dave Campo teams could have eked out wins against this 2024 squad in head-to-head competition Field of Dreams style. For some reason, that makes me shake my head harder than judging worst team ever.

This game could have easily been a lot closer if they kicked the field goal in the 3rd quarter and the fumble td didn't happen.

That’s football. A lot of our games could have been closer if certain things didn’t happen.

Yes I said it. I’m am 51 and have been a fan since I can remember. This is the worst Dallas team of my lifetime. They are a joke.
This team is underachieving to be sure, but is not worse than that 1989 team.

This is a middle of the road team that has been hit by a ton of injuries. The top 4 pass rushers all have missed time. Our top 3 corners have all missed time. Our best TE has missed half the season. Our #2 WR has missed half the season. Our starting QB has missed 2.5 games. Not many teams could survive those kinds of injuries.

That doesn't excuse Jones, or McCarthy or McClay. Poor decisions on resignings, on free agents, and on draft picks has knocked this team down and it will take 2-3 seasons at least to fix, at which time you probably can start the complete rebuild over. The contracts of Prescott, Lamb, and Parsons make it difficult to do anything of significance short term.

They were getting killed when fully healthy. This is not a good football team. It runs much deeper than injuries.

  1. Terrible Team
  2. Terrible Immediate Future Situation
  3. Terrible 30 years preceding
  4. Therefore, terrible future indefinitely because we can't get rid of the guy responsible for #'s 1,2, & 3
The decision making here is horrendous. Now they're going to figure it all out? I know I'd take Jimmy Johnson 1000 times over Jerry Jones even after a 1-15 season. The guy was a legit football coach. What we have here is just ridiculous.

So we'll probably draft another injury-prone TE with the top pick......... Was talking about it this morning with some friends, this team has so many holes, where does one start? I'd be inclined to trade down to the bottom of the 1st round for another high 2nd-round pick, this team needs a lot of quality picks. We know we'll probably get the maximum comp picks at least.

Lol, they will draft BPA. Your opening statement is ridiculous. The trade down could very be there. They could trade from 3 to 6. Something like that.

Jerry could always shock the world and follow in Atlanta's footsteps.
Draft a QB in the top 10 while still paying your vet QB top end contract money.
I mean, it could happen.
I mean it should happen.

But it won't.
RB or WR.

Book it.

It's not a worse team than 1989. Not even close. This team would beat the crap out of that one. But when you factor in the circumstances then and now this is easily the worst state the team has ever been in.

And. All. Because. Of. One. Man's. Ego.
