If we could just get the Jets to give us two number 1s for Dak and throw in Sauce (their CB) as well.

I think an honorable mention goes to the 2000 Cowboys that remind me of this team.

That offense was hard to watch as well.

I think Wade's 1-7 2010 team could roll this 2024 team.
I don’t even think it would be close. What made the 2010 team bad was that they got out of what was working in 2009 which was running the football. They were playing like it arena football.

However, against this defense, Romo would find the weak spots pretty easy.

Yes I said it. I’m am 51 and have been a fan since I can remember. This is the worst Dallas team of my lifetime. They are a joke.
No it’s not!!! 89 was bad. This team is way better, they’re just not playing worth a damn.

So far the current team is one of the worst Cowboys teams in franchise history but injuries are part of the reason.
And the way they have managed the team—coaching, free agency, contracts—it's like everything has come to a head this season,
and one person is responsible.
The media and fans are about to wear him out. It will be interesting to see how he holds up after seven more games, especially if they are all losses.

It’s time to see who here has the stomach for a full rebuild. A lot of you wanted this team to bottom out, and you may very well get your chance.

Right? We had a rookie QB and a sense the team was building. 1989 was basically an audition year for the 1988 team Jimmy inherited.
both years were tank years, but jimmy tanked better!! He got the # 1 overall pick ??
And he quickly built the team into a SB team.

Cowboys might improve , depending on who they draft, and if they do anything good in FA, they will have the cap to do it.

I fear they just sign diva micah, and still nothing in FA.

There’s similarities between this team and the 89 team. In 89 we moved on from a number of veteran players and went with inexperienced players. It’s been the same with this team. However, the current team has suffered a ton of injuries. Can’t remember a Cowboys team being this decimated by injuries. We weren’t playing good before all the injuries but we’ve gotten worse.
The cap makes it harder to move on from old players. Daks contract is a disaster. The Cowboys had Jimmy Johnson in 89. Now we just have the Jones boys. This is worse. The Cowboys are screwed.

This game could have easily been a lot closer if they kicked the field goal in the 3rd quarter and the fumble td didn't happen.
It could have been, but they still would have lost.

Well, we knocked the Washington team out of playoff contention in 89 so there is hope.

This is the worse year.
The thing about 1988 was when they got the 1st pick in the 1989 draft. We knew they would take Troy Aikman.
In 2025 if a top 5 pick and a QB is there. It will not happen.

Does any fan really believe they will take a top QB with their 1st pick?
I do not. That is why it is the worst year.

Worse now because we have a GM that's incapable of building a great coaching staff and roster, and not a football mind like Jimmy Johnson who coached a no nonsense team to Super Bowls in short order.
Worse now because of the salary cap.
Worse now because players have training, practice a physical contact limitations, less preseason games, and more regular season games which have resulted in depleted rosters that are at the same capacity as in the past.
In 1993, when things weren't so vanilla, a 53 man roster was fine.

The hope is to lose them all and move into the top 3. That would put them on their way to turning the ship around. If the football gods are with us.
