Okay, so I hope I can get some good suggestions.

9 days ago I sprained my left foot messing around at work. I can't tell you how bad my foot has been hurting for the last 9 days. I have been popping pills like they were pez. The worst part of this is, from limping around and favoring my left foot, I have now managed to make my right ankle just as sore as can be. For the last 3 days I have been on the couch with no weight on either foot, unless I have to use the restroom.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to get rid of the soreness in my right ankle?

btw, My sprain has pretty much healed in my left foot, but when I try to walk It feels like I'm learning to walk all over again. Very painful in both ankles, I imagine It's from not using my feet much the last 3 or 4 days.

Any good home remedies out there?

Thanks

Why don't you just go see a doctor? I mean, come on...

If that were me I would get it checked out, it could be something worse then a sprain?

Like 5stars said, it could be worse than a sprain, I'm no doctor, but the sprain is gone, I just have unbarable pain in my ankle from limping and favoring my hurt foot. The sprained foot is not the problem anymore.

Anyway, How I hurt my foot....

I was on my flat bed trailer(it's about 4 foot from the trailer to the ground), I jumped off the bacl of my trailer and landed on the outside part of my left foot. Reason I didn't land on both feet was because I had a blister on the bottom of my other foot.

I would not wish this pain on anyone, not even the game refs from last night and last week, the worst of it is over(sprain), but the soreness in my right ankle is just a throbbing constant pain, no matter the way I position it......I haven't had a good nights sleep in since this has happened.

I have tried hot water and epsom salt, but it is only temporary relief.

Your best bet for a high ankle sprain is Loritabs for pain, stay off of it (crutches may be needed), ice for swelling, followed by heating it up (stick your foot in a hot bath).

No, I am not a DR. Yes, I did stay @ a Holiday Inn.

Ice them; anti-inflammatory ;heat and a good ankle brace; rest and elevated the foot when you sit can help with most stuff if you did not do worse.

I may be worse than you think I would recommend a visit to a podiatrist or an orthopedics Doc if you hurt it that bad you where popping pills you may have done a lot more than you think you did.

:laugh2:

rub some dirt on it....

When I sprained my ankle (chopped with an axe), it didn't hurt at all until I started to move/rehab. I just worked thru it, and when I got too annoyed at the pain, I RICEd until it went away, then I started up again. I also favored my other leg too (hopped around), but that just caused muscle soreness. It went away in a couple days for me as I was in shape at the time.

It didn't help me when I tried that.

You must have never had a kidney stone. That is the worst ankle sprain multiplied by 100.

I pass kidney stones like nothing. It's like a grain of salt coming out of a fire hose.

:D jk, heard those kinda hurt.

After you get home from work, lay down on the floor and put your feet up on the wall (to form an "L"). Keep your feet up like that for like 20-30 minutes. THat'll really help out.

I'm a vet at this. Have had 4 of those things. Passed 3. One had to be "taken" out.

Fun times.

Not!

You literally think you are dying and if you aren't dying, you think it may be a better option.

i basically did the same thing to my ankle i was playing basketball i went up for a rebound and landed on the guys foot and my ankle just rolled. I could not walk on it and i had to get to class in like an hour. i basically had to hop on my other foot and drive with ym other foot all the way to class cuz i had no crutches
