Would an 0-2 start surprise you?

0-2 won't bother me as much as 8-9 to finish the season. Our offensive line is going to struggle. We are going to see a lot of 3 and outs which is going to put pressure on the defense.

While I’m trying to approach this season from an optimistic perspective, the more I step back and look at the current circumstances, the more worried I become.

I’m looking at a rookie left tackle with limited reps, a reputation for holding, and recovering from a high ankle sprain lining up to plan B at left guard.

I’m looking at a receiving group in flux, waiting for its’ #2 to be able to play recovering from major knee surgery.

And I’m also looking at a tough start to the season via scheduling.

I can’t help but to think that we will be spending most of the season clawing back from an 0-2 deficit.

How does everyone else feel?

No surprise if we go 0-2 just like I wouldnt be surprised if we started out 2-0 either . This is the NFL and anything can happen on any given Sunday.
We have the talent to compete with and beat anybody. I look forward to another solid season of ebb and flow. Go
Cowboys !

A 1-1 start is expected. Will be lucky to make the playoffs however .But no playoff deep run as demanded by Jerry. MM will be either replaced by Quinn or Jerry will go fully for Sean Payton as Jerry turns 80 this year .

Right, because Michael Gallup and Emmitt Smith are the same impactful players.
:huh::facepalm:
dont believe i said that and we were talkig records and reverign from slow start BTW

isnt that a knock on Aikman, Irving and the rest of the teams couldn't get to done MISSING ONE PLAYER?? its an ongoing knock on dak is it not, seems to me a lot of hypocrisy in the zone..

dont deny it, its no debate dak get ridden hard over losses when hes shorthanded of more than one payer but hey Old Jimmy and Aikman they get pass for being 0-2 minus one player like say 2017 when Zeke was out but not just zeke was gone also Tsmith and other players but its was all on DAK.. how about Aikman and company blowing the NFCG by imploding with penalties and turnovers, i believe when this happens our current players are called names. Huh?? hypocrisy at its finest.

how about the trouble ie Whitehouse, arrests, and crazy locker room shenanigans with the 90s team did, thought Jimy was the ultimate no nonsense coach who never would allow such a thing, odd not one of these great players were sat down or cut.. Bill parcels teams here highly penalized as well, huh ironic isnt it ..??

hey lets talk about BillP never bothering discipline a wild Lawrence Taylor..oh blame MM for our issues but hey i can keep going. Everyone wants Payton but he took drew Brees to 3 straight 7-9 seasons, odd that sounds like garett but with better players..ironic isnt it??

Oh wait i remember the Seattle seahawks that well coached and disciplined team with great player's and coaches , oops they led the league in penalties and won a SB. how about Landry how did all those North Dallas Forty type story's come out with his disciplinary type of no nonsense coach,.right if SM, number of media coverge, and the internet were around them you would find out what truly went on..

i mean this place wants to hang a lot of narratives on current players and coaches and i can do this all day.

this POINT to my comment was its a team game and we can turn it around. we did it in 18 that's with dak, we added a player like Gallup and went from 3-5 to 10-6 a division win and 2nd round,.

need any more schooling chump change?

Hopefully the coaches have something in their play books for up tempo quick plays. That will minimize the OLine challenge and Dak works best in a fast situation. Mix in other stuff later. Plus... our defense is going to be pretty good.

0-2 would surprise me. 1-1 would be fine. Two tough matchups to start the year but if this team has playoff goals then they need to beat one of Tampa or Cinncy. Injuries or not.

We didn't see the starters at all this preseason and it was that way across most of the NFL. Anything can happen.

It would not.

I expect us to start out slow, then start gelling after the first month anyway.

0-2 then 2-2.

TBH I'm expecting them to overcome all of this adversity, start like 4-1 or something, look pretty great, get our hopes up, and then inexplicably implode when it really matters. Though, I remember in 2014 when Sean Lee went down in camp it felt like the season was already over and then it ended up being the closest we've come to a Super Bowl since 1995. Seems like every time we think they'll probably be good they suck and when we are sure they'll lose they somehow have a good season. Even with all of the injuries this season will be a very make or break season for Dak, assuming the o-line doesn't get him killed.

Its make or break for the staff for sure...again no doubt the OL could be very rough, if the staff has not shcemed to help them then they need to go.

if they do nothing, this season is already over. If they sign Peters then at least we have some hope.

We start 0 and 2 with both games at home I'd call it a wrap for the season. Minus NFC East being the least again....

No. Cincinnati and Tampa are good teams with defenses that can punish our offensive line.

We punish their Oline... Hopefully the team isn't as wimpy as some fans in here. Not calling you out. But if we can't beat both at home I'd be disappointed. And obviously not in the park that we have a good team. Especially after what Brady did to us last year. I couldn't wait to get his arse! I'm not scared of either of these teams. But of course I'm not playing:grin:Wish I was though....

I am just saying losing the first two games is not a death sentence. I think the Cowboys are more likely to be 2-0 then 0-2. I am telling people this is the best total defense we have had since the 90s.

The first 6 is pretty rough. I look at that stretch as the playoffs or not. 2-4 and see you next year. 4-2 and they host a playoff game. It’s like that. Put me in the camp that thinks the Skins and Eagles are for real this season.
