Would anyone be opposed to Chris McAllister as a Cowboy?

Baltimore Ravens Chris McAlister Really Pimped His Ride…Or Rig

Sunday, August 5th, 2007 by SportsWrap

The new SportsRumblings Blog is only two posts old, but already has a gem about the Ravens’ Chris McAlister who showed up to mini-camp is a truly pimped out truck. McAlister has an enormous, chromed-out Ford F-650:

This one isn’t McAlister - but gives you an idea of how massive these things are (oh yeah - this one costs $94,000):

f650-supertruck-xuv.jpg

According to LuxuryLaunches, “There are 5 different models of the Ford F650 available, with seating for 4 to 12 (in seatbelts!). The Ford F650 gets 17mpg at a 70mph cruising speed! It’s got a 37-degree greater turning radius than a light-duty pickup truck. This huge vehicle comes with 300HP Caterpillar with 900 lbs of torque.”

Columbo drives one of those.......

What other veteran CB are out there. I thought I saw that Rod Hood was also unsigned. He would be a good option if he is out there, he plays special teams.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Very smart football player who credits Dennis Thurman with teaching him a lot.

We should have hired him when we had the opportunity. He is without a doubt one of the best DB coaches in football. Everywhere he goes, the defensive backs get turnovers. He helped as player and has been golden for the Ravens.

Gene Stallings once called him the smartest player he ever coached.

McAllister's knee is shot, and has lost two steps, if we sign anyone, and that depends on Alan Ball's health, Mcquarters would be a better option but that won't happen until after week one of the season

Agreed

If McAlister has anything left it would be as a saftey. The guy just can't run anymore.

Amen. He wanted to come home too. It was a perfect fit. Makes me can't stand Campo even more.

In his Hall of Fame induction speech Ronnie Lott credited him with teaching him the game when they were teammates at USC.

For the umpteenth time, Campo= Jerrys mole

No other reason for him to be here.

We might as well bring back Anthony Henry. They are practically the same player at this point in their careers.

Anthony Henry is on the Detroit Lions roster. Chris McAllister is a Free Agent.

There's a pretty wide gap in the situations there.

If he'll come in cheap, and stays healthy to help out, I wouldn't be too opposed to it. I agree though that nothing like that is likely to happen till after the first game of the season.

if you would have asked me this question 5 months ago, or maybe even a month ago, I would have said no way

but now I would be open to the idea, I wasn't gung-ho about getting rid of Henry, but we got fair value for him with Kitna, so not mad about that, but still think we're going to miss not having another vet corner along with Newman, even if he's 4th/5th string

if McCallister is open to the idea of being at most, a 4th corner here, then I say bring him aboard

We could really create some havoc in pressure packages with him.

I'd love to line him up at CF in our Bear package and just get after that QB knowing we have a ballhawk back there.

I'd like him in a safety role too.

4th corner would be nice as well.

I believe he is available. He's a punk. But maybe he's learned something from his last few years in Baltimore. I was initially opposed to this idea but now I think I would be ok with it. He doesn't have a ton left, but definitely two solid seasons. I think he would feast with our pass rush.

Yes!!!

Is he not "well-spoken"?

Actually, he's very bright and well-spoken. He does have a history of off the field issues (the most glaring a DWI I believe?), but is also known to be standoffish and self-centered. I remember him being benched during a game in San Diego and never found himself out of Harbaugh's doghouse when he took over in Bmore. That said the man plays hard and is a very instinctive football player. I think we should take a flyer on him and see what he's go left.

Chris McCallister understanding his role would indeed be the key.

We don't need a veteran pouting in the locker room about his role on the team because younger corners are ahead of him on the depth chart.

C Mac might be able to teach our D something about the art of ballhawking.

We need more turnovers on defense in the worst possible way.
