Would Bills take Bobby C. and a 5th for Roscoe Parrish?

If anything, his presence would probably mean the end of the Stanback experiment.

He's now trying his luck fielding punts, so we'll see.

This trade would be a good way to cut a loss, but I doubt it happens.

Since the Bills recently worked out the little 'backer from the Rams it seems they are still looking for help at that spot....that trade makes too much sense, which also means it probably won't happen.

Ask yourself if you'd do it and then put yourself in the same shoes as the Bills GM.

I think it's pretty clear by the draft that this is Carpenter's last chance with the Cowboys, maybe he will play like a freak this year, shut down the TEs and fly around the middle ripping heads off like a mad man?

or maybe he will just suck as usual burning a roster spot....

not gonna happen. He signed a 3 year 12.3 m extension through 2011. He's on the hook for 3m alone this year then 2 m next and 2011.
Waste of money

Before we trade Carpenter, we need to make sure someone can handle the nickel LB duty. J Williams has a huge learning curve. Maybe S Hodge can be that guy off the bat, but we have to first find out before trading Carpenter.

Why would the Bills trade Parrish?

They are openly shopping him.

When we traded down in the 2nd round with Buffalo, the trade was so lopsided I thought that we had acquired Parrish. Instead, we just got beat.

I don't think Carp. can handle the nickel LB duty or 4 linebackers wouldn't of been drafted this year.. Hope I'm wrong, but the writing is on the wall..

I've been calling for this move ever since Roscoe was first reported that he was being shopped. I really don't get why we didn't get a deal done with him when we traded with the Bills on draft day. I thought it was a perfect opportunity and would have been a fair trade. Roscoe is expendable with the Bills IMO and I think he upgrades our punt and kick returning tremendously.

I don't really want Felix or Miles back there returning kicks. It makes too much sense!!! Come on Jerry!!! Get him!!!!!!!!!!! Roscoe and Felix on the same field?? Disgusting...

Well, all 4 of the LBs we drafted are changing positions in the pros from their college positions.

2 of the LBs we drafted were DEs in college, and they are going to be playing OLB with the Cowboys.

1 of the LBs we drafted was Hodge, and he was playing as a SS type in college.

The other LB, J Williams, was playing very close to the LOS, and he isn't used to playing in space.

Of these 4, you can basically eliminate Butler and B Williams playing the nickel.

J Williams may be ready some time during his rookie year, but I highly doubt he'll be ready by the time the regular season starts. (The Cowboys aren't banking on that either.)

The best challenge to unseat Carpenter from the roster right away is likely to come from Hodge, since he's used to playing in space.

That said, my guess is that Hodge will focus on STs at first, slowly easing his way into some sort of role on defensive packages.

I think there's a very good chance that Carpenter will be the nickel LB to start this season - unless we trade for another LB or pick up someone in the final roster cuts, or a guy like M Stewart can play the nickel role.

I think Wade is going to give Carpenter every shot to win the nickel role on Defense. And I think there's a real shot that Carpenter will be able to play that role as well.

I think we have to wait and see before cutting or trading Carpenter. Let's see how TC and the pre-season games go first.

We don't have a fifth..Holland trade. I'd give them Ellis or Carpenter and a 6th for Roscoe Chicken n Waffles in a heartbeat.

We are so thin at nickel LB and Mike.
Unfortunately that seems to be true with or without Bobby Carpenter on the team.
