Would Garrett allow Hard Knocks?

If HBO approached Jerry to do Hard Knocks in 2012, do you think that Garrett would nix the idea?

On one hand, Jason seems like the kind of guy who can keep the team focused and trained in on football like Rex Ryan did last year.

The contra is that he'd not want any distractions around his process of preparation of the team for the coming year.

What do you think? If he had the final say so, does JG give the okay or does he torpedo the idea?
They did approach the Cowboys and Garrett said no.

And there we go folks. Garrett said no.

Thanks Hos. Folks seem to think that no matter what, Jerry is the person who signs off on everything from shoe laces to ace bandages no matter who else is in charge of that department.

Given the authority JG supposedly has with this team, doubt JJ would agree to Hard Knocks w/o JG's agreement; really don't see this happening. Last thing JG wants is for this team to be distracted by cameras etc. Besides appearing on Hard Knocks didn't win us any SBs.

I think he would definitely run it by the head coach before saying yes.

I wouldn't automatically assume Garrett would decline. I'd have thought Rex Ryan wouldn't do it either and he did.

It's a great show for fans but really I don't think it's in the best interest of the team to have that distraction in camp. As much as I love the inside look, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the sake of the team.

You mean: Would Jerry allow it?
Exactly! no one is going to prevent Jerry Jones from making some extra $$$$$

I don't think it would matter one way or the other, it doesn't really have much to do with the cowboys until the winner comes to camp at which point Garret is free to cut him at any time. I don't see how that would hurt the team any more then say one of the gabillion kickers we've had inn for TC

I think you are referring to 4th and long, not hard knocks.

FWIW, I think Jerry would have said no as well. There's no more value to Hard Knocks, at least for this year.

Imagine this scenario:

Jerry: knocks on Garretts door sheepishly

Jason: looks up from his desk, obviously deep in thought & irritated by the distraction shouts "What!?!?!"

Jerry: Hey RJ, we got offered to do Hard Knocks for 2011, what should I tell them?

Jason: NO!.........and shut the door on your way out.

Jerry: Sighs, slinks off, shoulders dragging as he depressingly returns to his office to tell HBO the news.

Obviously I am exaggerating here, and I'm sure many wish this was accurate, but I'm not buying it was anywhere near as simple as Garret's sole veto.

I believe the decision was made in a consensus of at least Garrett, Jerry and Stephen and regardless of whether Stephen and Garrett were adamantly against it, if Jerry wanted to do it, it would have happened.

I think after a 6-10, I think Jerry is even smart enough to say no to HBO. But let us compete this year and I'd bet Jerry would want the cameras following him to his Superbowl. Every time you give Jerry the benefit if the doubt thinking he has learned from the past he lets you down.

If jj wanted it jg wouldnt have a say in it.

If stephen jones says no, i think thats the way it would be...for some reason i feel he calls the shots

See the post above yours.

Like I said easy decision when coming off a 6-10 season. Let's turn this around and get some steam going and see if Jerry will throw up the big top tent real quick.
