I get it, you don't like Schottenheimer (not like I'm a fan) and that's perfectly fine, but using McCarthy and Garrett as barometers is borderline desperate.

At least compare him to coaches that don't just trade the flaws of the moment for the other flaws those coaches had (and they had several).

I did like Schotty but it is obvious he cant call plays and cant adjust after his scripted plays, that means he cant coach. I'm using them as examples to show how deficient this staff is.

McCarthy and Garrett had their issues but they could get to the playoffs, Schotty has no chance. He is a one trick pony.

He runs the ball twice just past midfield, too conservative, he doesnt attack the defense.

We score plenty. Can't tackle, can't get stops, can't cover, can't get turnovers or sacks. Throw in players making business decisions on defense and injuries.Then we have a DC who is a bad fit. Refuses to change. Shotty definitely can be better but hardly is the problem. I will say this, Xi wouldn't be shocked if he's fired. That happens if Jerry has a huge name HC he already knows will accept the job. Otherwise, he's not being fired

If Schottenheimer had those 12-5 season defenses this year, the Cowboys would be in the playoffs likely as the NFC East winner.

Beyond that though, neither of those coaches did anything in the playoffs once they got there. If that's your standard for judging a season, you're well behind what I expect.

In any case, I'm not sure why you are attacking my comments though since I'm not a huge fan of Schottenheimer.

The OP asked what Jerry would do and I stated what I think Jerry will likely do based on what he perceives.

Those are not my opinions, but how I believe Jerry will view it.

Dak was never capable of winning a Super Bowl. I agree that this front office is awful but the fact that theyve never really gotten serious about the QB position is definitely more proof that they just have no idea what they are doing.

Jerry Jones genuinely believe he is the Cowboys’ difference between victory and defeat. He is never going to hire a head coach that would give fans the impression that they are the reason the Cowboys start winning.

It took Jerry how many years to get past fans’ love for Jimmy Johnson. I think he still resents it. He is not going put himself in a situation like that again. Do you believe Landry and Johnson were fired by Jerry because they were not good football coaches?
