Would loss to Eagles ruin teams chances?

If the Cowboys can't beat the Eagles at Home then that would cement my thinking this team is going nowhere in the Playoffs. An Eagles win will likely show they are the class of the Division if not the Conference. And given how good SF has looked lately, it seems that any game against them in the Playoffs would be a repeat of last years game where they dominated/beat up the Cowboys.

Didn't the Rams lose to the 49ers twice last year?

A loss to Philly would all but ruin our chances of winning the NFC East and good luck beating them on the road if we run into them in the playoffs as a wildcard. If the Cowboys can’t beat Philly at home they’ll never get past them in the playoffs.

Yup, should we play them in the playoffs, it's hard to beat a team 3 times in one season.

Here is a maybe scenario that matters. Cowboys do make playoffs, maybe win wildcard (unless against Brady), then go to Philly.

The Cowboys beat Philly three times in 2009 but that Philly team wasn’t nearly as good as the team they have now. The Cowboys were hot entering the playoffs in 2009 beating Philly in the season finale to take the NFC East and they beat them the following week in the wildcard round. The Cowboys having to head to Philly in the playoffs would be like heading into a hornets nest. Philly would win by 2+ scores in my opinion. The only real chance the Cowboys have to reach the Super Bowl is to win the NFC East.

People need to stop pretending that every game defines the season. As long as the Cowboys get into the playoffs the regular season doesn't mean much of anything other than establishing seeding.

After the Green Bay game is was basically established that we couldnt win another game all year. Now we are talked about as potential front runners again. We could be 1-1 against Philly this year, or we could be 0-2. If we meet them again in the playoffs it really doesnt matter aside from potentially who hosts the game. It's a new season and in the NFL anything can happen.

Beating a team 3 times in one season is very difficult. If the Eagles beat Dallas the second time around, I like our chances in the playoffs if we face them again.

Philly has a HUGE target on their backs and they aren't accustomed to that.

that plays out only if no other wildcards win.

Absolutely Washington could go in an beat Minnesota, they almost did a couple weeks ago. Giants 9ers would be a low scoring game, anything can happen there.

Counterpoint, we have a better team than we had then as well.
