yes, if they can keep him on until the season starts then he has to miss 6 weeks......but I think the NFLPA would file a grievance if he is healthy

Well when does the Season start officially in the eyes of the NFL? 20 days til we play and 17 til that first Thursday night game, doesnt sound like he's comin back anytime soon, we havent even heard rumblings of him gettin closer....

Just cut him.

He's and aging vet and this type of move could end his career.

1. It's the right thing to do.

2. You may lose future players we could sign in fear we would do this to them as well.

We just burned the #5 overall pick on a RB and Morris would likely be a pro bowler if he was the starter as well. Let McFadden go.

He's still gettin' paid, right? It's not like we're docking his pay while he rubs 'tussin' on the bone.

They don't have to pay his salary if he's on NFI.
potentially....it is harder than it seems to recover the money......Plaxico won a grievance when he shot himself and the Giants withheld payment...."he didn't willfully to injure himself with the gun in an attempt to miss practice and games" is the jist of the NFLPA's winning argument

NFI is virtually the same thing different title for non team injuries.

I know it's similar but I don't know if it has the same requirements, such as missing six weeks before being allowed to return.

It was an accident, no need to call him names. Pretty petty.
Really?

Given the fact the story has changed several times gives me more credibility on the imbecile side versus a situation where it was an innocent "accident".

You do realize McFadden had the 4th most rushing yards in the NFL last year, right?
last year was a wasteland for RBs......his yardage would not have been in the top 10 in 2014 or 2013....it was a fluke that an injury machine like McFadden stayed healthy in a RB Apocalypse

I'd give McFadden a little more respect, he took a back up role last year behind Randle, and when it was time to start, he did what he was supposed to. If he's healthy, and wants to play, we should either play him, trade him, or release him so he can find work elsewhere. The patriots need rbs back.

This is right. Treat vets who are rkgs with respect. If he's not in the plans let his agent seek a trade. If we'd prefer PUP, let him make the choice between that and being released (if no trade emerges).

Treat guys right and you get guys around the league who want to come here

Yeah, he purposely hurt himself. His story didn't change, a reporter got something second hand from a position coach and it turned out inaccurate.

But some folks are concerned about whether he was trying to save his iPhone or not. Like that is some sort of essential detail or not.

Why on earth if he was lying, would he correct the story? Folks had bought that story. A liar would have just been happy with that
