Would McFadden accept being PUP'd?

I read that if DAL keeps JSmith on the NFI for the year then it is considered a 'medical redshirt' and he doesn't accrue a season......DAL would still have him for 4 more years...but if they go that way then they 100% can't activate him this year

If he's what we think he will be then it is irrelevant

I read that maybe the best thing for the team is to put McFadden on the PUP for the first six weeks, keep all our 4 other RBs on the final 53, and then have McFadden fresh for last 10 games if we need him (if not, trade or cut him then). Would McFadden view this as a slap in the face? If he's healthy for week 1, would players union even allow? Not sure, but the thought of having a rested 1000 yard rusher in the bullpen is appealing.
There are too many teams out there that would love a 1,000 yard rusher!!
PUP? Insulting!

last year was a wasteland for RBs......his yardage would not have been in the top 10 in 2014 or 2013....it was a fluke that an injury machine like McFadden stayed healthy in a RB Apocalypse

He also didn't start for the first five game of the season. He averaged 87 yards in his starts, that's 1400 yards over a full season.

I'm saying he should start or even be on the 53. But people are posting he his Robert Turban or Christine Michael and he is far better than that.

He also had 225 total in games 9-12, well after he was established as a starter.......he got 402 in the last 4 meaningless games...he padded his already watered down stats against teams that were gladly trading game clock for meaningless yards.....WAS was up 24-0 but McFadden got his 92

In one of those games he got 129 yards rushing and in another he only got 10 carries against Carolina, that had one of best run defenses in the NFL.

If you can cherry pick games out of the season, I can cherry pick the Division games before those four where he got 152 yards against the Giants and 117 against Philly.

I'm a fan of McFadden.

His ability is not why I want him cut.

If you are saying cut him for cap room, I do think that would be the biggest reason to move him in a trade or cut him outright. But he still has value and this team went from 12-4 to 4-12 because of QB depth, I really don't want to take away depth at a skill position unless you absolutely have to.

I think this idea of leaving him on the PUP and making the final decision after six games is the way to go.

most of the DC.com guys are now sayin they think we'll keep him on NFI, to hold onto his rights just in case someone gets hurt in the first 6 weeks....Mick even added it can be stretched to 9 weeks (or games?)....If McFadden wants to get butthurt about it, who cares?
When has he ever gotten butthurt in the past?

Let's give Mcfadden a hand for barely getting his 2nd 1,000 yard season in 8 years. Although we went 4-12 as a team

Morris has 3 1,000 yard seasons in 4 years

Who said anything about gettin butthurt in the past?.....just because he hasnt before means he never will?........

No one, that's the point. Anything is possible, but based on his past history and character, highly improbable.
