Would QB Malik Willis be an upgrade over Cooper Rush?

I would think the goal is to try and develop a guy like Willis. There shouldn't have been any expectations on him last season.
ideally he’d be a 3rd QB for a couple years learning and developing. He has the physical traits to play but QB in the nfl is a huge leap from liberty
We will likely carry a QB on the PS, I’d be happy to fill that slot with him and see
But if he’s cut some team will sign him and take a look. He wasn’t really over drafted he’s just really raw for the nfl and shouldn’t have probably even been on the field last year

They're nuts if they keep Tannehill this season. He's a 36M cap hit, almost 16% against the cap. Half that in dead cap.

Thank you. He’s flat out bad. To say he and Dak are the same is insane. I never thought much of him aside from a season or two.

I thought they were nuts when they signed him to that contract. He should be giving Henry half his paycheck. Henry got him that contract. He's had plenty of weapons. He struggles as a passer. That's not good for a QB that can't take off running.

He has an NFL arm, throws a nice deep ball. That said the fact that an NFL team is ready to bail on a 3rd round pick a year later speaks volumes. When I saw him play last year he looked clearly over matched. Probably needs a year in a lower profile market with a coach that has the ability to devolop a project.
Your list of NFL teams that are 'a lower profile market' than the Tennessee Titans?

I don’t think the system is gonna be drastically different at all. Some changes but mostly changes in play calling

Fair point. I expect under utilized plays from the old system as well as MM sprinkling in his own stuff.

I'm not sure though, it wasn't that long ago MM said he didn't know KMs system. I suppose he can study up.

I don’t anyone understood KM’s play calling but the system isn’t complicated
Rush has been around long enough to understand any system. His issue is just physical limitations not smarts

I know that. My point was his mastery of the offense is a big factor in what allowed him go succeed. Depending on the extent of change it may eliminate one of his greatest strengths.

Last yeah he couldn't pass. Reminds me of what Stephen McGee was here. BUT, the guy has potential and I'd like to find what that is but they would not let Rush go for him.

Kind of shocked they're already out on him. They must'e never really been in on him to begin with.

The real question is why in the hell would you be in on Ryan Tannenhill? I didn't even know he was still there.

I agree, but I wonder if some time with McCarthy teaching him and learning on the practice squad here might do him some good.

Malik Willis is a poor thrower of the football, idk what the hell the Titans were thinking.
Bring him to Dallas for what? Cooper Rush is the QB2, and they don't need mire than that. Second thought Willis could help on scout team Philly week.

Hence the practice squad idea. He could compete with Will Grier, and, if he wins, he can participate in the practice squad. Who knows? Maybe some time there could help.

Grier could out play willis
Willis is no where near being a 2nd QB, let alone the backup. He wasn’t ready last year and they sure did him no favors sticking him in there. I’d trust rush to do a better job blindfolded
Willis is a goid prospect but he’s is not near ready to be on the field. I don’t get titans giving up on him so soon but my guess is they know his contract will be up before he’s ready

It's impossible to evaluate Willis based on last year. It's unlikely he can come in and game manage like Rush, but long-term he still has better upside.
In terms of a developmental prospect I'd take Willis over Will Grier. Rush knows his role and, in a short-term capacity, is capable. He's proven to be a serviceable back up, but I wouldn't mind replacing Grier with Willis, if possible. Rush is what he is, but Willis has potential.

I bet you Philly could get good use out of Willis in that offense.

My goodness, can this kid's talent be this far off or Titan's system is a complete misfit......

I wouldn’t mind bringing him in for a look if he were to be released, but it would have to be as a developmental #3 quarterback. He’s nowhere near being ready to challenge Rush for the backup job.

But if you like the tools, and think you have a structure in place to coach him up? Sure, I can see that.

They play different positions. Willis is not a QB. Sad that he's staying there, because w/ his speed he might be great at another position.
