Would Quinn's departure affect Micah staying here?

it depends upon the DC who would replace Quinn, imo.

It's likely to vary among coaches -coordinators.

The next DC may want to go preferably 3-4 Steelers like scheme.
(which we would need to add much more bigger-physical LB starters & depth)
While another may be 4-3 scheme, ala Eagles and Cleveland.

And most of all , how that DC will want to scheme Parsons.
A TJ Watt 3-4 OLB ?
Or a Hasson Riddick/Von Miller like LB role in the 4-3 scheme ? ( or 4-2-5 nickel base ?)

BTW, the club would have to really do their diligence work on the next DC, just as they
did with hiring Quinn, cuz we recall what happened when McCarthy himself brought in
the disaster better known as Mike Nolan.
worst thing ever!!!!! lol

IMO, Micah has been the best defensive player in football the last 2 seasons, maybe even 3 seasons, in the first half of the season. Then he's faded down the stretch. Whether it's pacing, conditioning, or injury, the Cowboys need more of him in the 2nd half of the year. Regardless, it's comical that anyone ITT thinks Jerry Jones would let him get away.

If Micah truly wanted out, the Cowboys would find a way to trade him. MP leaving as a free agent is a practical impossibility. He'll want that big $$ guaranteed, and the only way he can get it now is resigning with Dallas.
very good points, another poster that is saying he's not as effective in portions of the season. It's not a bash, it's just appears what it is. His pay will be monumental, but we're saying he's up and down, how much would you even start at

I meant in a trade, not tagging
Yeah I don’t think we would trade him, so that would get us the last year on his deal and two years of the tag before it’s probably untenable. I mean if he really wants to go he could pull a TO also.

If Quinn leaves it means we made the NFCCG so I think players would stay being 1 game from super bowl.
OTOH if Quinn ends up in LA then the bright lights will be a lot to resist.
Quinn is leaving no matter what

Just more evidence the window is shutting and they need to win NOW. DQ may have a hard time pulling #11 but it's possible. He'll definitely have a good shot at depth FA guys like Fowler who are FAs next year and were brought in by DQ originally.

Everyone is always talking about what would shake up Jerry and make him change his management style. Give it up on the tickets and merchandise, ain't no one going to stop buying their Boys stuff. But I'll tell you what would shake him up and make him re-examine how he's doing this.... if he were to lose a big name like #11 or #88 in free agency.

ESPECIALLY to a person who used to work for the organization. I don't think Jerry has ever lost an extension he went after. It started with Randy Gregory, but that wasn't the same situation with his question marks.

We have to think about that, we know he's our leader on defense and our best player on defense. They both have a great relationship, could this be in play, could it hurt contract talks?? Please give your thoughts
DA leaving will have no effect on Parsons. We’re not letting him go anywhere.

Nothing will ever ‘shake up’ his management style because he’s the most successful franchise in the NFL.

He's managed to piece most of it back together after Jimmy left. The regular season success, the merchandising, the ratings... just needs the big games in the Tourney. I suspect it's a big reason why he put Jimmy in the ROH. Maybe he thinks this is finally the year?

Absolutely not. Parsons has no deep ties to Quinn. He's just another coach. They come and go all the time.

Money will be what motivates Parsons as all these players. Pay him what he wants and he stays, simple as that. Not to mention all the endorsement deals you get for just being a Cowboys player. Parsons gets a ton of exposure just for playing for Dallas.

No the Cowboys have Micah under contract for 2 more years plus 2 franchise tags. By that time Quinn will be fired as head coach because he is a good DC but not head coach material.
