Yeah, I read that McMahon article, but didn't appreciate it as much, because it was dumb.

I don't love the fact that Jason hired his brothers, and I don't care if they move on via promotion or in whatever way one gets one's brother to move on with dignity.

I get not liking Garrett. I just don't see how anyone can consider the guy a scheming genius and say so with a straight face. I get the daywalker stuff, because he's a ginger and everybody knows gingers don't have souls (no offense, gingers). And I get the robot stuff because he talks and acts like a robot enough.

But the guy's just a smart guy who cares a lot about the theory of coaching and is working on the details of implementation. He's never been anything but an honest, stand-up guy that I've ever heard. And all his former teammates and former organizations seem to love him. Why choose to believe he's a secret weasel just because one wants him gone? It's just a weird take, all around.

Not really far fetched. There's a lack of Garrett-accountability while the rest of the village burns. In post-game press conferences where Garrett has made serious errors, he refuses to admit (at least openly) that he screwed the pooch. And now coaches are getting axed (deservedly so) while the Garrett clan (who has failed at ALL of their jobs as bad or worse than Ryan/Peete) remains entrenched in Valley Ranch. Grima Wormtongue wasn't that slimy. (shoutout to my nerds)

"Dave Wannstedt was Buffalo’s defensive coordinator last season. He was not helped by a turnover-prone offense and an ineffective Mario Williams. There are obvious ties to the Cowboys from his time with Jimmy Johnson in the early 1990s. He helped direct some top defenses in Miami as well that featured aggressive cornerback play."

Speculation was that Jerry Jones may go full 'Al Davis' and bring back both Norv Turner and Dave Wannstedt in a pathetic attempt to rekindle past glory.

But he's just tying him to the team's past not really saying it is a possibility right? I saw the name Dave Campo yesterday. I think you missed a chance to really go for hyperbole in responding to EB.

I'm of two minds on it, honestly. I don't love the appearance of nepotism, but I also understand the toll NFL coaching takes on a family and get why coaches would want to have family around. It doesn't look good, but it's only a problem when the subordinate coach in question isn't doing a good job and retains his job anyway. Or when it can be made to appear that way. I don't think that's necessarily the case in Dallas. And, I agree, people are just making up things to be upset about some more.
