Honestly, I think there will be enough balls for all three. We don't have that big durable RB like Zeke. So all RBs will be on a pitch count to minimize injuries. As for Patterson for Gillmore, I'd do it in a NY min. Just another weapon for the offense.
Wow. That's crazy trade proposal for a guy that is a gimmick, spot player ... and a gimmick spot player for a core defensive player ?

Gilmore would be the reason why a Philly could not throw their WR duo Brown/Smith and exposing us anymore.

Hes actually been a highly effective HB the last few seasons. I'd love to bring him in.
I was only referencing the idea that he would replace Turpin. Turpin is a punt returner while Patterson is a kick returner, so he's not a replacement for Turpin. I agree on the tailback part of his game, which is why I think he'd be competition for Jones II.

Well, he’s a seven time all-pro and one of the greatest returners of all time.

That’s enough to get me interested.
Isn't he a kick returner (not a punt returner)?

If so...kick returns will be greatly reduced this year with most teams will opt for free spot at 25 yard line.

Yea but it's not Patterson vs. Turpin for touches, it's Patterson vs. Vaughn.

You might keep Patterson on the 53 over Turpin, but Patterson and Vaughn would have the same role in the offense.
Turpin is a waste offensively. At least Deuce and Patterson could contribute on offense. Only problem is Patterson is 32 years old.

I'd definitely kick the tires on him. He is a pretty versatile player. Getting up there in age, but I'm sure he has some steam left.

I'd sign him in a heartbeat but, of course, I'm not Jerry, nor Stephen.
He'd make a good addition that would only serve the Dallas Cowboys famously. ;)
I suspect that he wouldn't be too likely to cost them a king's ransom, either. He'd complement our offense well.

This is crazy. we all have to see the duce.
If on draft day we were offered Patterson in exchange for the rights to Deuce, that deal gets made for the Cowboys 10/10 unless they were just going for the human interest angle.

Happy to have both, but Patterson is proven versatility that could help three key areas. special teams, RB and WR.

Isnt it amazing how uneducated posters can be on football?

he would be the perfect compliment to pollard. He can also hammer it up the middle and on the GL.

In a perfect world that's a great plan, but Atlanta could find another suitor while we sit on our hands. We have approached RB this offseason similar to how we addressed WR last year and I don't like the gamble.
Well Said. And he needs to learn the offense. Dump one of the scrubs and bring him in.

then we''l make do without a suitor .. it's would be more of a possibility if Patterson was cut, ..and free without draft pick compensations. but Stephen is not gonna do that if we hve to
give up draft picks to do so for a guy that is just a KO returner (wile we already have a great KR/PR) and spot gimmick RB

and by the way, Patterson is not a full time RB
Hes not a spot gimmick RB. you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

Falcons suck but they have a good o-line. Here's what their top carriers delivered:

Tyler Allgeier.................4.9
Cordarrelle Patterson....4.8
Marcus Mariota.............5.2
Caleb Huntley...............4.8
Avery Williams..............5.0

Patterson wasn't as special as his blockers. And even worse he could only average 3.9 yards per pass target.

10-year vet...I'll pass.

He would be filling in at times. You have to think we have Lamb, Cooks, Gallup, Pollard, so he would be just getting in there at times. Also, he could kills three roster spots and allow you to keep other guys on the team from camp. Personally, I want to see what we have in Cropper. But I'm probably biased.

Here's what often happens with WR/RB's entering their 11th year:

- They wake up one Monday morning and they realize they just don't love football as much as they did
or
- They wake up one Monday morning and they realize they just can't play football as well as they did

I respect the guy. Maybe he's still got something. Just not a gamble I would want to make.
