Would You be Mad: Barrett Jones at #18

I like Jones very much but that would be as big a reach as we have ever done. I think he will be a very good center in the pros so I would not put him in the Kavika Pitman, Shante Carver or Q range of reaches because they were busts. but for a good player that is like our pick taking russel maryland.

On another note, and somebody mentioned it already in this thread or another, Broaddus has said mutliple times that the cowboys are not high on Jones. Now my guess is he has been tipped off on that as he has said it more than once and remember he was at the alabama pro day and was talking with Tom C there about the players as well.

I would be p!ssed beyond your dreams. why waste a first rounder on a player, that's injured and will be ther ein the 2nd or even third, specially one that's ranked toward the bottom of the top 100!!!

His versatility is what separates him from Frederick IMO. Watching the kid the National Championship I honestly think he can be something special.

I would be furious. The guy is a third round pick IMO. it would be boarder line worse pick of JJ's GM career.

He is a classic Garrett RKG and I believe we take him in the 2nd, one round too early.

If the Cowboys make a deal in which we can get an additional 2nd rd pick then I would like to get Jones.

At 18 I think it is a reach and do not want to see the Cowboys reaching for players in the draft.

You have Jones poorly scouted if you believe he is late 1 IMO.

He lacks strength, is coming off a surgery and may need a pseudo-redshirt year.

Jones did great things at Bama but a lot of that was with initial help from Warmack. Minus a powerful OG next to him he could struggle with big NFL caliber DL players.

I'd love to land Jones in round 3 or 4 but he isn't likely at all to start this year and would be a colossal gamble at 18.
