Jones is a late 2nd round pick at best. 3rd round is more likely.

I understand he is currently rated as low first round/ high 2nd round, but I honestly wouldn't mind this pick at all at 18. I really like Jones tbh. I'd take him before Vac or Sly.

Barrett Jones if healthy might be a mid 2nd round pick at the earliest; however, he has a Lisfranc injury. This injury could prevent him form contributing much if anything this season. There is also some risk of long-term issues with the injury.

Prior to the injury, Jones biggest asset was the fact that he is mentally ahead of most college players. Physically, he has limited upside. If he can't challenge for a spot immediately due to injury, then his advantage of being ready-now is gone.

He would be a good reliable player to select in the 4th round. He is basically Kyle Kosier.

Love the player, not the value @ 18. Remember Witten was a 3rd rounder. For #1, you want a little more. Great #3, though.

Can you get him in the 2nd? Whose to say he is not a first round grade in some other team's draft boards?

he is not going in then first for a few reasons. mainly because of injury. i'm betting he will be there in the 3rd round. this is a guy surrounded by super talent and while he is good i don't think he is even the best center in the draft and won't be the first one taken either

I wouldn't take him in the first based on what draft gurus say about his draft stock.

If Dallas takes him in the first, I wouldn't be mad, though, because there's a difference between where gurus say guys should go and where teams rate them.

It would surprise me, but as long as Dallas is following it's board, which had people laughing/disbelieving when the Cowboys said they had Sean Lee and Bruce Carter rated as first-round picks when they took them in the second.

It's the draft, you never know what's going to happen.
