Would you be mad if one of our players did this?

It's kind of funny when you stop and think about it.

We criticize the NFL for any move that takes away from the game being any fun...to the point of calling it the NFL aka No Fun League.

Yet two good friends that spend a good deal of the offseason working out in a program together get together the night before a game and have fun and we act like it is a terrible thing...or a bad thing if terrible is to turrible.

We're in the age of the terminally offended, where many look for something to be offended about like it's what they are suppose to do.

Well this isn't like the old NFL days where everyone hated each other's guts and aimed for the head. Nope this is the social media/twitter/facebook/instagram days where players try to be human around each other now. You think Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice were best friends back in the day?

Timing is everything...and this isn't something I'd be bothered about. Especially since it's clear these guys hang and are genuinely fond of each other outside the game.

They don't hate each other like the fans want them, too.

So, no I wouldn't be mad at them hanging out the day before the game.
What did you mean by fond?

I guess the prevailing thought is, you can only be friends with the guys on your team? I hate to defend Odell, but this absolutely nothing.

Depends. With these two its probably no big deal. They are both WRs.

But what if it was your top Safety or CB and their top WR? Are you really going to plow into someone you love as a friend in the secondary to try to knock the ball loose? Potentially injuring them? Or would you just make the tackle and avoid a big hit?

I don't know, man. Gets complicated. If it was me, I'd just stick with having friends on my side of the ball.

Like a lot of them do, I'm sure.

I freely admit I didn't like that. They had literally just got done kicking the Cowboys butt and he rolled up on Vick while he was in the middle of a national TV interview like a groupie. It can wait, Tashard. lol
Yeah I didn't like Choice doing that at all. I don't like it one bit.

I just wanted to tar and feather Risen and saw a chance.

There's a significant difference between asking for signed memorabilia for your nephew prior to Christmas *after* a game and hanging out with a player before one. The risk of letting something about the game plan slip alone would be enough for me to prohibit pre-game fraternizing if I were a coach, though the players really ought to be smart enough tor realize it's a lot easier to stay focussed if they're not hanging with the opposing team. Yes, I'd be irritated. But then, everything about OBJ is irritating. Especially his stupid two-tone hair/beard right now.

I disagree... but then my issue is always about timing. These guys were on their own time hanging out like guys do. That doesn't bother me.

The autograph thing could've waited until after Vick was off-camera... and honestly, I don't buy the whole, it's for my nephew thing either. But then this was before they swap jerseys while still on the field and pose for the NFL cameras. lol

Now, I just don't care, but that was my issue then.

Choice getting Vick's autograph was an embarrassment. Players having friends on other teams is something that has been around forever and is harmless. All of those players from Ohio State who end up on different teams are still going to be friends, as will players who get traded, or just meet a player from another team at a party or even the Pro Bowl. This is really a non-issue, IMO. We see players from different teams hugging each other after a game all the time. Old friends.
