I will hold Bill B in high regard for his Pats run, but I think it was clear at the end, even with Brady, his magic was starting to fade.
Once a genius in the draft or UDFA, he was having a lot more misses. Ego caused him and Brady to split.
I think coaches have a shelf life, with the adapting NFL landscape. To his credit, the 00's and 10's Pats would make other teams adapt but towards the end they slipped.

One thing to hire him, what 2 years ago? But now, nah. Just move on to the next puppet.

I've never been a fan of his as he never won anything without Tom Brady and even Bruce Arians won a Super Bowl with a 43-year old Tom Brady coaching the Buccaneers.

It’s just sadly become predictable at this point. If Jerry was going for a splash hire it would have happened after McCarthy was let go.

Now he just needs the defense to show improvement over the year and he has a story to sell to the fans with Pettine, plus he has a HC in training with CP. I highly doubt Jerry wants a 5th DC in as many years nor does he want to eat that money.

At very least we'd have some sort of discipline hopefully. We'd be prepared, even if we lose. This team doesn't know how to prepare and win. It's clear. With our young guys we drafted, I think hiring BB could be enough to at least win the division. Nobody takes this team serious. He'd be a bridge. But a upgrade over this horrifying staff.

Jerry doesn't do fire sales.

He'll trade for another CB, that's what he always does.

He was only a good drafter because he was one of the few teams running the 3/4, and the scheme specific players would fall to him as the 4/3 teams passed them up. And then add in that Belly knew where the games were won, the trenches. While everyone else was filling their roster w/ skill players, Belly was grabbing up the numerous trench players slipping down the draft because they weren't CBs.
