He is wearing a sign on his chest saying "injury machine" right now, but yet I'm an *** to pose the question cause I have concerns about his health/durability ?:banghead:

So it's unanimous from y'all on here: sign a 30 year old corner whose body is showing signs of breaking down.

Sorry I posed such a bad question.

Because he has a foot/knee problem right now ! I've seen this too many times with players that hit about 30. Soon it'll be a shoulder/hammy...once players start getting injured they keep getting injured.

Go ask Bear fans about Mike Brown, or Jax fans about Fred Taylor, or Atl fans about John Abraham.....

well Newman has never had the injury history those guys have

and he's a better player than any of those guys

Mike Brown has been injury prone pretty much since he's been in the NFL. Age has nothing to do with his injuries.

The same goes for Fred Taylor and John Abraham.

Get your facts straight.

After this year isn't he a free agent? Usually players tend to always keep getting injured once they start having problems. Would we be better served letting him walk and put the $$ towards someone more durable ? I have no idea who'll be available but it is starting to scare me w/ him. This reminds me of the year that Deion had that toe problem and we kept on waiting for him to get healthy.

Would I re-sign TNew?
Let me think about ... yes.

irvin88, no offense but you must be an Aggie cuz that was one goofy question to ask.

No, i let him walk. Top ten draft picks that turn into top 5 at their possition come along every year.

Once it starts happening, it keeps on happening. Not just in football, but all sports.

I think Newman is going to feel the wrath of the franchise tag after 08.

No, Newman is not a free agent at the end of the year. He is still under contract for 2008 season.

This is actually working out great for both sides. Newman can come back full strenght next year and prove the injuries this year were just a fluke and get paid some major coin.

Or

Newman is plagued all year with injuries, comes back next year and same story. We just saved $80 million contract and can go get another corner in FA or Draft.

So out of thousands and thousands of professional athletes ....... you name a dozen and think that proves something.

I could make a list 10 times that size of all the athletes who were injured and came back good as new ..... but why bother ..... you have already made up your mind.
