Would you take a #1 for Martellus Bennett now?

Carpenter is having more of a positive impact on this team than Bennett is right now.

That is a mirage.

Fact: Barbie has entered his 4th season.
Fact: MartyB has entered his 2nd season.

All rookies should be given three full seasons to acquit themselves.

Barbie, in his 4th year, is barely holding onto a situational will position after being drafted in the 1st round.

MartyB is still existing under the three year rule.

Which is why I said right now, but my point still stands. At the moment, if I had to cut someone outright I would cut Bennett before Carpenter.

Plus I can't imagine any scenario under the sun where you hold on to a 2nd year player and hope he develops into something remotely useful over getting a 1st round pick for him. Especially when you have a future HOFer already in front of him on the depth chart, and a 3rd stringer who is at the very least blocking just as well.

I'd take a third because I think his work ethic is garbage, his route running is terrible and he's not going to develop. Next year at this time we're going to be hoping for a 2nd day pick, but that's my opinion.

Bennett just wasnt used right this year. Dallas changed Bennetts assignment this year because his blocking vastly improved but its costing him some seam routes. I am absolutely convinced you put him as starter on a passing offense and he is top 7 TE in the league. Dallas should trade him if they are going to under utilize him like this.

Classic narcissistic personality disorder

Yikes. Are you saying that Marty B has a mental disorder?

Seems a little harsh. He's 21 years old. He's playing pro football, making a lot of money, doing pizza commercials with Jerry, doing all varieties of media.... Seems like he's handling it relatively well for a 21 year old, IMO.

No, give him a full season as a starter and the guy will mature quickly enough. His time will come but right now we have Witten...

I agree.Give MB one full season to develop. Fer now, Romo and Witt have this man-love bbf thing going on. And it's difficult for MB to horn in on that relationship. And that relationship transfers to consistent Romo-to-Witten intermediate short passes. And it works. And MB is the odd man out, statistically speaking. It's a little Witten-the-featured=passer and a little MB-being-immature. Not a good combination. Give him time. Who else out there who can replace him well? And who out there who will settle as No. 2 to Witten?
