For what? Be thankful we have a solid backup QB.
The way the board has erupted, you'd think many draft picks would be coming our way for the QB's.On today’s PC from Schotty.
He said still a close race between Milton and Howell. Not ready to make a decision on QB 2.
Howell slightly ahead of Milton which was why they started him in game 1.
No, I disagree. I think many of us just feel like we have a pretty good backup with Milton and don't believe we'll get a better one if we trade him for a position of need. Not sure I'm right, but Howell doesn't look quite as good to me as Milton has... but I could be wrong. The way the board has erupted, you'd think many draft picks would be coming our way for the QB's.
Howell has played a lot more NFL football than Milton. He was thrown to the wolves by Washington. Frankly, that means something more to me than a raggedy pre-season game against a terrible 3rd row Cardinals team. No, I disagree. Right. These were top end coaches too. Dick Vermeil and Belichick. We can add Bill Parcells to the mix. Had Bledsoe not pissed him off, when does Romo come in? Romo was raw, but he was still better than Bledsoe at that time.Good point. Probably never.
Sure. I'm just saying. If he doesn't get hurt, I doubt we ever see Milton. Even if Dak gets hurt for a few games, and provided Milton looks good, we probably still trade him. Dallas isn't paying two QBs, and Dak has too big of a dead cap.Or he might. Dak is damaged goods. Look at his EVEN years.

2026 uhh ohh...
Some aren’t really an option to trade but in general I agree. And if a nice offer came for Milton I’d trade him. He’s played solid in pre season but do you want to pay him like a starter before he proves he can be a starter? He’s got one year after this and you gotta pay him. The right offer I’d take in a heartbeatMy phone lines would always be on for trade offers no matter who the player is.
Or, it's just preseason and no judgment can be made at this time. It's more than obvious that Joe Milton is making incredible progress at this point in time. Those who are considering trading Milton at this point in his career, while he's making such headway are not thinking logically, from the looks of it. Let's give him credit for his improvement and make the most of it. Joe Milton is improving in every way that matters at this point. Trading him now would be foolish, imho. Prescott could easily be injured, and Milton could be right there to prevent disaster. Think it over.
It's fair to say. I'm just going by what my eyes tell me at this juncture. The difference between before and now is nothing but extraordinary. Forgive me for being excited about this guy and his progress.Or, it's just preseason and no judgment can be made at this time.
Waiting for somebody on here to suggest 2 1's, including a Top 10 in next years draft.....I'm sure it's comingUnless a 3rd or more is offered, don't see the point in trading him.
What has Milton shown that the decision to move off of Dak asap, is imminent? I think this board had the same discussion when that 9ers QB was traded here, and he was the 2nd coming of Roger S. Milton is anything but leverage in regards to what Dak has brought to this team; at this point he is possibly a competent security blanket, which could be important given Dak's age...which, by the way he hasn't shown many signs of breaking down. If Dak gets hurt and Joe needs to play a significant part of the season and impresses.....then the discussion could changeMy prediction is that we keep Milton and Jerry tries to use him as leverage with Dak. In principle we could walk away from Dak after 2027, which is when Milton's contract expires. So a lot happens between now and then, but I do think Jerry is tired of Dak having all the leverage in contract negotiations, so having a viable backup plan could be desirable.
A 1st and 3rd rounder would be the starting offer......and a starting OTThe way the board has erupted, you'd think many draft picks would be coming our way for the QB's.
I wouldn't call 2 full seasons from now imminent. If I was Jerry, I just wouldn't trade Milton because he has been unhappy about the Dak negotiations each time. So whatever leverage he can have the better. What has Milton shown that the decision to move off of Dak asap, is imminent? The problem is that Joe Milton is not leverage against Dak...or anybody else, for that matter. Each time Dak's contracts were due, there were plenty of other options to turn to at QB, but he stuck with him through thick and thinI wouldn't call 2 full seasons from now imminent.
