No.

Fans here got stupid on Jimmy's success in the Walker trade.

Stop.

This ain't Herschel Walker. This is a guy who people are already calling the best defensive player in the league.

Youre leaving out that its a team sport with two sides of the ball and many positions needing to be solid to win a Super Bowl. Most important position based on salary is QB. Please try and argue against that with Nick Foles type arguments and not including the Will McClay factor.

Right now your only argument is that Dallas is stacked with talent so the trade would be questionable. In many other teams situations this would be an interesting discussion assuming you could get a Walker like bounty.

If I was desperate for a Super Bowl I might entertain a Rogers for Parsons trade if Green Bay was interested. All things equal that would elevate this team without question. But no one is giving up a young QB and Dallas doesnt seem to need a bunch of picks to fill holes.

Actually, it possible to make the most important position on the field your defensive line. At least that could be the most important position group, in front of QB.

We're starting to see teams now be able to get after the Tom Brady's of the world, and Borrow, and Stafford.

It doesn't matter how good your QB is if you can't protect him.

The market says QB is the most important position according to math people and decision makers. The defensive line is made up of multiple people...not Parsons...which leads to the suggestion of Parsons for multiple picks to fill holes valid. Granted...Dallas doesnt have the problem or currently seem to have a holes problem.

It’s beyond obvious it would never come to that.
But a responsible GM would look at a colossal proposal if one were offered. No one player is beyond reach if the package were to be great enough. That was all I was saying. I certainly love Micah Parsons and what he brings to this defense. No way in hades will anyone offer enough for Jerry to let him get away.

I hope Herschel wins his Senate seat in 3 weeks so if you live in Georgia go vote for him.

But Walker was a lot like Zeke in that he had early success and was better in college than in the NFL, his NFL career peaked early and he wasn't worth a second contract. We should have done that with Zeke in like 2017 before the suspension stuff came out. We could have gotten a lot in return plus capital to draft a couple mid round backs to run behind that still great o-line and not had all that drama in 2017 which submarined our season that year.

I disagree with what you’re saying. No responsible GM would even take a look at a proposal that would involve Micah Parsons for a few rolls of the dice in the draft when when you’re winning games and he’s made your defense one of the best in the league. A GM looks at proposals to trade a great player when they’re losing games or they can’t or refuse to pay them like what KC did with Tyreek Hill. Jerry traded a great player away in 1989 because his team sucked and he needed a lot of draft picks to rebuild it.

I’m more worried bout parsons saying he’s going where quinn goes.
what after 2 FTYS and 5 year that's long time form now players cant do what they want under contract, he has to pay one more season after this before he even qualifies for new deal given his 1st round status we get 5 year option plus FTs..come on worry why players dont have a lot of power until years unto their deal, this is 20 games in dude ..jeez..

and no not now but we can after say YR 4 and he holds out to get out then take a dump truck load for him but in the mean time we have two season left with him AT MINIMUM!

Would you make that trade now? I think it would be a no-brainer....you do it.

We have seen what a great dynasty can be built having all that draft capital...

Comments?
NO!!!!!!!!! you should be benched a week for suggesting it!

Hopefully we move Micah in the offseason. Would be able to fill a lot of needs with the return.

Plus then he wouldn't have to be neutral on any of our rivalries anymore.

Guys it's a crap shoot. Carson Wentz his first year looked like a 10 year all pro. He sucks now. Chase Young was supposed to be the best defensive player in the league right now. Hell he sucked last year before he tore up his knee and has not played a down this year. Bottom line is you don't know now what you will know in a couple of years. If Parsons has a 10 year career like LT then you would be an idiot to trade him. Like I said time will tell. I just hope we can continue to build the defense around his talent. PS. Remember Luke Keukley or whatever his name was in Carolina. Great great player and an all pro for years and years, but he was a great player on a crappy defense. Parsons deserves better. Be an interesting next year or two.

I think this sums up the correct answers here:

Only young QB's with major upside are untradeable. Parsons isnt a QB.

It only makes sense to trade a generational talent player if you have lots of holes to fill. The Cowboys dont fit that scenario.

Will McClay's track record should factor into this as well if you were Dallas, a crappy team and your received a call about Parsons from another team.

Why would you trade a top 2 defensive player who’s only 23?

No. I wouldn’t. But the odds favor the trade depending on how many picks and where they fall in the round?

2 firsts
2 seconds
2 thirds

and a legit starting caliber player (last say MCCaffrey or something similar?). Yeah you probably make that trade.

Would they be as good as Parsons? No. But if Parsons gets hurt you would wish you had taken the picks —and the odds say it will happen.

We will have to agree to disagree then and respectively so, sir. I fully understand why the walker trade was conducted.
